I was in a dealer this weekend that would not sell me that belt because I don't have an XP. WTF are people with older revs suppose to use for belts? The new white 166 belts suck!!
FIND a new dealer!!!!!...............I have 2 on my sled..
Changing the gearing down one is also advised and BRP WILL PAY FOR THIS MOD...call any dealer...they should already know this info. You will lose a bit of top end speed...but the machine will work awesome in the deep...and climb phenominal with the changes. [/QUOTE said:My dealer regeared my XP under warranty but wouldn't doo my 07. Is anyone getting there 07 done under warranty?
The 166 cannot handle the heat when boondocking or riding in the deep..
Put on the FREE BRP replacement #417-300-377 belt. It is from the same manufacture of the 166 [Mitsushiba] but it is much more heat resistant 4mm shorter and 1mm wider than the 166. If you ride all day on trails you would not likely have the same issues as a guy who boondocks, due to the extra heat produced due to the way the sled was originally geared.

Why did BRP not do this in the first place... well everything is a compromise, depending on how and where you like to ride.
My dealer says the belt does not exist and without full part # he cant look it up Stupid!!!!!!

Yep me too.
It seems to not slip like the 253 or the 166 belts did.
