36" arms & 3" tracks

Just wondering what the experiences are with the two paired together.
I've been running the 3" for two seasons now & love it. Haven't tried the 36" a-arms yet. Just checking to see who's had them together & their thoughts on them. I figure on pow days there wouldn't be any issues, just curious to handling characteristics on non pow days. For what it's worth, planning on running the Mohawk ski, & keeping the sway bar. Thanks for your thoughts.

I just switched out to a 3 incher as well, and would be interested to see the feedback as well.

Also interested in this. On my second season with the 3" (jury is still out on whether I like it or not) and I'd love to try the 36" front end out.

I decided to do the this very thing. Alt impact 36" kit, x3 track, and I also just sent in the shocks for revavle and upgrade to holz. Just waiting for snow.

I ran the x3 with the 36 alt arms last year on a 163. Loved it. Trying it on a 155 this year, don't see myself not enjoying it. Ran into the spring some and it still did good...

gonna love it. had that on a boosted pro. That sled will get you into trouble in a hurry. So nimble and capable, you get into some wild terrain with so little effort.

tdorval - I decided to hold off on the x3 track for the time being. Interested to know if you or anyone else ran this same setup with a CE 2.5 rather than the x3? I have 155 track and mostly ride northern Utah/Idaho/Wyoming. Lots of posts about this track being a solid performer in all snow conditions.

I've never run the 2.5 but it can be done for cheaper then the x3 that's for sure. If my x3 deal doesn't work out its what I'm going to try. Won't know until after hunting season. I ride in CO as far as snow type goes but that track impressed me from November to April.

Had some on my sled last year. They make a big difference in a good way IMO. Don't have a 3" track but really enjoyed the A-arms. They are the Alt-imp ones. Best thing about them is you can use stock shocks and don't need to cut the spindles like Z-broz recommends you do. I have an extra set I was going to throw on the girlfriends sled but she isn't too interested in riding anymore. PM me if anyone around Revy is interested in them.

I'm looking to do a 36" front end on my 2012. Was thinking about the z-broz and sending them my fox evol's for re sizing. I haven't investigated the Alt-imp 36 arms. A may be interested in your spare set. My cell: 250 550 5410 Vernon BC.

Take a look at the alt impact design. I chose it because a $20 rod end is a lot cheaper and easier to change than an a arm when you hit something. I bent one last year and it sure was nice compared to changing entire arms like I'm used to. Just something to consider. The zbroz do look cool but after having both I think I like the alt impact better. Personal opinion and I know people that stick with z broz, just wanted to point out why I made my choice.

Well, went ahead and ordered up a set of arms (Alt. Imp). Figure nothing ventured, nothing gained. My biggest concern was about those non carving moments, which we all have at some point. But then I figured I ran my last sled on the narrow setting (39") 100% of the time with no issues, so if I needed to I could run these on the widest setting (38"). All we need now is snow. Thanks for all the input on this thread so far guys.

Is the advantage of the 36" front end that it is easier to get the sled on its side? And the disadvantage is tippy on the trail?

Is this correct?

Yes, you are correct, the narrower ski stance makes it easier to tip in or get it on edge, which is a big benefit in tight technical terrain. The negative of the narrower ski stance is that you lose some trail capability by making it tippy on hard pack. You also lose a little bit of ski suspension travel since you arm shorter, which reduces the travel with the same shock. Most people don't account for that disadvantage of this setup. But I believe for people looking an advantage of technical specific type riding will see that it is worth the cons. I haven't tried the 36" yet, but have some zbroz for my wife to try this season. I believe it will help her confidence getting the sled on edge in more difficult situations where she can't use speed to get the sled on edge and must go slow and controlled. I do have to modify the spindle to allow for full steering under full droop of the suspension, but I also had to do this when I narrowed up the ski stance on my 12' assault I had. I had no durability issuesfrom it.
