300 fuel consumption?

Sorry if this has been discussed already. I'm sure it has, but the search function isn't working for me at the moment.

For those of you running KTM 300's with the TS kit. How much fuel are you burning? I will be riding high rocky mtn's hopefully in lots of powder. About half of my winter rides are in to a cabin about 15 miles one way. For these trips I can haul a large can as we use the cabin as a base camp with shortish rides from there several times a day. The rest of the time rides will be typical leave from the truck and see where we end up.

I'm trying to get gas can options settled and want to hear what you guys are burning.

I am running a 40mm smart carb on my ktm330. I use way more fuel than the 4 strokes but can't give you a number on it.

I have a 15 300 xcw and stock porting as of now, high comp head, 38mm lectron, sx ignition and it burns the exact same amount of fuel as the 14 ktm 450 and 14 yz450 i ride with. All ST

Im pretty wore out by the time i finish off the stock 2.8 gallon tank. Then top off before the trail back( or we get distracted by another play area). The only time we stop is when were all stuck, haha. But when there is good riding, the bike tank and the spare jug is a pretty good long day.

mx bikes with the 2 gallon tank burn through that right when the riding is getting good

A lot of it depends on how far the trail ride in is also. Feels like you burn though gas a lot faster when the trail in is more than 10-12 miles in.

I use about 3 gallons in 50 miles with my 250sx perfectly jeted and lowered float. Carbs tend to dribble and waste fuel if the float is too high. In the dirt my 300's always used more than my 250's even though they have smaller main jets. Off trail and deep pow will use more gas.

I have a 3.1 gallon tank and the 3.3 gallon tank on the tunnel. I run a full mod 300 and I get back with a half gallon- 1 gallon on all day rides. It gets slightly less milage than the stock 450s. The guys running mx 450s with 2 gallon tanks and the 3.3 tank on the tunnel are usually on fumes.

Thanks guys. That's what I was looking for. Just trying to avoid hauling around a huge jug when I only need a couple gallons. Or worse, only carrying a gallon or two when I need 3.
