-30°f this morning at home

Al Gore! I thought we were warming up. Just to inform you, that is fricking COLD!

Some moron at NCAR said "there's a difference between weather and climate". Yeah right, there's also a difference between natural science and political science. Gore and his bots have made a fortune.

A little more of this might put the hurt on the pine beetles. Man the forest looks like bad.

It was -15 at my house here in Dillon this morning.Didn't leave the cabinet under the kitchen sink open enough last night so cold water line was frozen again.Took the ceramic heater 10 minutes or so to thaw it out but pipes didn't burst.
Who designs a house in cold weather country where the water lines run up against an exterior wall?

The typical hippie that lives up there. Sorry, couldn't resist. :D My master bath and downstairs bath both have sinks on the exterior walls.

this reminds me of a story....

so when i lived in the dark lands of Pennsylvania and used to rip up the trails with my fan cooled Polaris Indy Sport 121", we used to head up to canada once a year because the trails were like interstates up there. You rode in negative temps all the time. (BTW, minus 20 in canada is alot worse than high altitude -20, trust me)

I was leaving mt tremblandt and it was a minus 28 morning. The temp needle pins itself within minutes of starting the SUV and starts to overheat so i know something is slushed up.

I pull over to a local gas station to wait before they open and there are 2 locals standing outside shooting the breeze over the gas pumps, waiting for the owner to open up. hardcore frenchies...

could be worse, we could be driving in atlanta today.....

The Highlands was balmy compared to the valley, -32F, but the GFI breaker my truck was plugged into decided to blow. Needless to say, my diesel didn't move. So much for blowing off Friday and going sledding.

Winter Park Highlands? You must drive a ford :D I've started my cummins at
-20 without being plugged in, took about 10 min to get her started; but she fired!

That's kinda funny .. . my wife is down there for Market and she said they got 2 inches of snow and the whole city is shut down, schools closed, roads closed. .. canceled good morning America so they could run continuous updates and report on what was happening in the city . .. just chaos . .. .ya gotta laugh!

Can you say gellin!:eek::eek:

-32 yesterday in steamboat. Duramax was plugged in but gelled up anyway. Warmed her up and replaced fuel filter plus a little diesel 911 and it is good to go. Glad I rode Thursday only -15 that day plus warmer up on buff all day.

Yep woke up in Kremmling friday morning and the trucks were really struggling to do anything, gas pumps no worky and the cattle out in the field were just standing still no movement at all.... Warmed to a balmy -10 during the day's ride...
