Anyone know if I was to do a 5/8 drop if I could run a 3 in track? I would also assume id have to run smaller drivers. Thanks guys!

the 7 tooth is the same dia as 2.52 x 8 tooth , with the D&R you should have room

to tight, use the avid chaincase for the 3" track with proper drivers.

Was it the Van Amburg drop? How difficult was it to install?

I had the holz drop. it just dropped it down 5/8 it will be tight in there if the 3 in fits. you might just want to pick up a 2.5 camo extreme. I am putting one on my turbo this summer

Yea I wasn't sure if it would fit. The drop template is on its way, im going to run 8t drivers and I mesure to see if there is room. Everyone that I talk to that is running the 3in can't stop saying how amazing it works, even guys that were running the 2.5.

3" track

A 3" paddle track is 3" pitch. Your limitation will be the length of your chaincase. The diameter of a 7 tooth 3" pitch driver is 6.7". The belt thickness plus the 3" paddle is about 3.25". The diameter of the jackshaft is 1". You will need at least 7.1" from the center of the driveshaft to the outside edge of the jackshaft to get everything to fit. I don't believe the center to center distance on a stock chaincase is more than 7.25". That is with you runing the jackshaft inside the tunnel. Jackshaft anywhere above the bulkhead is never going to work. The chaincase is too short.

I just mesured the chain case, its 8 inches c to c. I have heard not to run the 3in track with 7 tooth drivers because the bend around the drivers is too extreme and makes the lugs break. So sounds like im out of luck.

I had a 2.4 track on my edge with 9t drivers with the 5/8 drop

Kind of an old post but do you know how much clearance the 2.4 track has with that combination (9t 2.52 drivers and a 5/8 drop)? I have a 01 Edge XC SP I'm setting up for hill drag racing and would like to run 2.125" chisels in it but would like to keep them at least 1/2" away from the front cooler.

10t drivers and 2.125" chisels would be even better but I don't think just a drop would give me enough room...

Fastrax has some the billet extended cases left. Jack shaft stays home and center to center is 9". Easy install. Uses stock bolt holes and comes with drill template for driveshaft bearing. I bet they would cut a real good deal on one for ya.
