Hey guys, I'm traveling to visit a friend that just moved to the Denver area and we are going to ride for a few days. Neither of us have rode in CO. Looking for info to point us in the right direction. We will be on bikes. Thanks

Probably the Mountain Horse in his sig....

You will have a couple hours drive from Denver. ANYWHERE in the state is going to be good right now. You have Grand Lake, Winter Park, the Snowies in WY, Vail Pass, Seamboat area, all within your reach.

I suspect some of the Denver dwellers will chime in soon.

Denver area:
- Wash Park
- Cherry Creek Drainage
- Standley Lake

:)

Once you are done with those areas and if you are not in jail check out:
- Rabbit Ears/Buff Pass
- Snowy Range WY
- Grand Lake

Are you staying each night in Denver? You could do a round about trip, hit the Snowy Range up in Wyoming first, drive down and stay in Walden CO and hit Buffalo Pass on Day 2, then either hit Rabbit Ears or Grand Lake on Day 3.

I'd hit Vail Pass or Rabbit Ears. Like everyone else said, everywhere is getting snow.

Doing Vail Pass depends on the days you are riding. If it is a Saturday or Sunday and you are coming back to Denver, that can be tough because of skier traffic. Are you gonna stay there or head back?

Yes we will be riding snowbikes, if there was somewhere close we would probly drive back each day but otherwise find a lodge somewhere to stay for a couple days. Thx for the help

Are there any lodges to ride out of around walden area or steamboat area? We are thinking of coming out from Iowa next weekend. Thanks

I hit wash park once when I was new to the sport. Bad move, and I thought you got bad looks at Jones. Whatever, mayor called a state of emergency.

If that is true, you are a legend in my book :beer; Pics?

It's true. I lived in West wash. We got that city closing dump about 7 years back. Now I live over the hog back, and piss of the suburbanites, with my kids in the new development. :)

Nice! Cheers to you and your kids! ...and I thought dropping the cornice on the ridge above the Eisenhower tunnel with BCIL was pretty badazz, (years ago and legal of course) it's not always about elevation is it;)

Wash Park!!! Amazing

Hey blackvelvet check out Corona.

Are you picky about riding a different area each day? If not I suggest just staying in Steamboat or Walden and ride Rabbit Ears and or Buff Pass the whole time. Enough terrain for three days up there..

Yeah kinda looks like we will just pick a place to ride and stay there a couple days, any recommendations on lodging? Is there anywhere that we can ride from the lodge? Thanks

Hey blackvelvet check out Corona.

I miss those above Eisenhower days, going up the Loveland mogul fields was like a rodeo.
