3/4 ton Sub..anybody drive one?

Or you could buy a half ton and put air bags under it. Best of both worlds. I would make sure you had a really good tranny cooler if it didn't have one stock though, heat kills automatics. If you buy that 3/4 ton and it rides too harsh you could always take out a leaf and bag it and maybe put the half ton springs in the front. They would be almost free at a junk yard.

And then there's the "Duraburb"!! Awesome

Did you build it, have it built or buy it converted?

Built it 4 years ago, used a 05 LLY motor.

5 people with an 18 hour drive? I would take two trucks!!! Even a suburban would suck in the back seat for that long!
Or try a motorhome

This....

I've had 7 suburbans, Yukon XLs, etc. 2 of them have been 3/4 tons. The 3/4 is a lot more truck, but towing is still pretty sub par. The 6.0 is a dog for any real pulling and 18 hrs pulling that big of a trailer sounds like no fun to me. I just buy 1/2 tons now and make my friends with the diesels pull out west. It's 1100 miles one way for me so I would rather not screw around.

Still make 'em, but '06 was the last year you could get a 8.1 (I think)

Ok, I found them. For some reason when I was on the Chevy site earlier it was only coming up with 1/2 tons. It is quite lame GM doesn't offer a bigger gasser or Dmax on the subs.

Not sure about the Chevy. With the GMC you can get them in the Yukon or the xl. Option on the Regular Yukon. Standard on the Denali.

Loved the 87 to 91 bodies, so much interior room, visibility, solid axles, stable towing, fuel injected gas motors. The 6.2 N/A diesel was no powerhouse, but got okay mpg and I have seen them with 400k still running.

I second that Mafesto. Went from a Denali with the 6.2 to a diesel. Never knew how bad the 6.2 was for towing until I got the new truck. Towing anything behind the Denali, and my mileage plummeted.

There should be a new (99% new) 6.2 liter hitting the gm market in 2014. 450 hp and 450 ft-lbs. cylinder deactivation, constant variable timing, exhaust and intake strokes, direct injection. Should be interesting.

they should just start slappin the blowers they use on there v8 cars on some of there gasser trucks. then they'd have some pretty fun stout little pick'm up trucks.
