2nd time grenade

sorry guys did not know that about a 900 engine

Actually you were correct in your logic pins on the intake side.... the exhaust and the intake are on the same side of the sled so it goes opposite the Exhaust side... We were both right.

Sorry guys. I retracted my statement in the very next post. When I saw the reeds the piston looked backwards, and I typed my post and sent it. Looked at the pictures again and realized it was a 900 motor.

Ive made the same statement in the past... No worries!

Looks like everything has been covered here but let me reinforce 1 fact so there is no confusion.

DO NOT USE ANYTHING OTHER THAN 2006 Polaris OEM pistons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are simply the best all-around pistons for this motor.

SPI are a direct copy of the 2005 pistons and the 2005 pistons are JUNK. I wouldn't even advise using them as a pen-holder on your desk.

lol if i were you guys i would get rid of the 05 pistons... if they do anything like this!!! spend 200 rather then 2500

i took my crank to well known machine shop mongoose, specialize in 2 strokes etc. there going to inspect my bearings crank rod. heres the kicker they sell spi pistons and never had a problem. they gotta be doing something right i think they have been around since 1978 and all they do it small engines. maybe i had a bad cast.

here goes round two, machines and line bored case(thank god they can salvage), 06 oem pistons, new injectors, new reeds.

From what I have read SPI makes excellent pistons. The problem is they copied the stock 05 design which was bad. If they had copied the 06 design we could probably all run the SPI's with no issues.

Updated crank, Updated Flywheel, 06 pistons and an SLP cool head are in the works for mine already. It only needs to run about 2 more weeks on the factory parts and there are plenty of them out there with 3 and 4 times as many miles on them as mine has, so hopefully it will stay together till I can get all the parts together.
