2025 (and 2024) 9r mag side noise (recoil?).

My new 9r makes a funny noise down by the Recoil. A friends with 140 miles makes the same.

Trying a YouTube video of the high pitched squeal after start. Seems to go away after running a while.

Almost sounds like a spring or piece of tin vibrating like mad.

Sound familiar to anyone?

definately a vibration piece of tin. that engine sure moves a lot when the clutch engages. crazy for a new sled.

My 23 has done that since new if you apply a little pressure to the brake does the sound go away? I thought mine was the brake pads squeaking.

I’ll check. Haven’t poked around too much.
It seems forward of the brake.
My ‘23 did not make it (it made other noises of death lol)

The neighbors ‘24 makes it and has stock can.
Mine has aftermarket.

I've had that on 2 different 9R's (2023 and 2025). Also seemed to go away once warmed up/ridden a few miles. Must be something hitting a vibration frequency.

I noticed both mine and my buddies 9Rs make that sound sometimes at idle after startup. It must be something vibrating from the harmonics.

put a piece of rubber hose on the pad retaining pin about a 1/4" longer than the gap between the pads. (old FST fix)

I just picked mine up from the dealer…they called Polaris and it’s a known noise coming from the lightweight flywheel harmonics. The only fix right now is to install a flywheel off a boost to fix the noise. I left mine with the noisy flywheel.(quick responsiveness ) Crazy thing is I never noticed the noise until I put a HPS can on mine, I didn’t hear it with the SLP trail can. I gave the SLP can away so I can’t double check. It is not the HPS can, I double checked with the stock muffler.
