2022, more new sleds?

No one buys base models unless thats the only thing sitting on the floor. Less than 10 percent snowcheck a base model. So all the poors wait until its on sale at the end of season and then buy a base model. If there was a Khaos or Expert or Hardcore sitting there with a rebate, you would have bought that.

The manufacturers have the numbers and know what sells, hence Cat dropping the base Alpha and 600s.

There was both a khaos and and pimped out 3" Axys sitting right next to the base model axys I bought. I bought the base model because a different track, tuned shocks and a wrap were going on whatever I bought and the 'upgrades' were pointless. There's a little more to it than poverty and lack of choice........ Elitism in sledding cracks me up. People wait for deals on all sleds midseason, not just base models.

How anyone can walk outside at any western trailhead in the US right now, look around at how many cats they see and refuse to acknowledge reality is outside my powers. They weren't selling sleds because they were stagnant and made it difficult for people to carry their line. Not because they didn't have pretty plastic colors. They're failing in market share because they're not innovating where it needs to happen. That's why they weren't selling many of the admittedly much too big of a model line they used to have. But instead of improving and focusing, they just cut, cut, cut, now they barely exist with pretty much two options in mountain sleds. It has nothing to do with 'what people will buy' because people DO buy new lower spec sleds from skidoo and polaris all the time. You're hearing from a few of them here but you're just writing them off as poor and opportunistic. Got another cat buddy of mine foaming at the mouth right now to drop his snowcheck money on a khaos as soon as he can in a few weeks here. People are leaving the cat brand for a reason. I know I won't be buying another.

I just placed an order for two FULL PRICE 600 RMKs for work. Certainly not paying 15k each for a cat but that's the only option with those guys.

There's nothing that would make me happier to see cat do what's needed to really make them a viable option again, trust me. There's still a part of me that's very curious about the release in two weeks. But seriously, skidoo just released another entire line in the US.......

What I've been told is pretty well what you have seen on here is what it is. More or less bng unless you want a 146 alpha or a thundercat with power steering.

ITs getting pretty hard to justify sticking with cat, between lack of available parts and lack of new innovation.... I enjoy my alpha but I think I would enjoy an Axys just as much

As sad as it for me to say I have to agree with you.
I've been on nothing but cats since 1995.
The air intake sucking in snow is unacceptable.
The exploding drive clutch needs to be recalled.
It would be easy for cat to raise this chassis at the factory.
850-900 cc engines can easily make 170-180 hp.
Making a slightly stronger rail sure can't be hard.
And there has to be more parts availability!
