2021 Yamaha Mountain Max - Re-badged Alpha???

I’m a Cat fan and even more of a Yamaha fan! Why couldn’t Cat \ Yamaha keep it simple! Twin Rail, clutch’s that don’t break , seal the vents add some warrant they would still be in the market and making money.( Alpha to date is an marketing ploy trying to compete with T-Motion) Reliability is very important when 3 mtn ranges deep.........
The alpha doesn't have to compete with t motion. It is way better. I do agree and could give Yamaha a little more credit if they would have come with a twin rail. Even one with the 3.5 pitch track. Then they would have done something on there own.

The xm was a doctored xp chassis. The gen 4 is new. The proclimb will be doctored for 10 years when the 2021 show this fall. The axys is not a doctored pro. New motor, new bulkhead, raised chassis, new tunnel, suspension componets, etc. Pro motor doesn't fit in an axys. Not something dribbled out for 10 years. Don't get me wrong. I love my alpha. All I'm saying is Yamaha is going out of their way to build anything stellar and I'm not sure textron is either.
The axys may not share many parts, but it is still just a refined pro chassis. They look almost identical, and handle fairly similar. I'm just saying all the brands have milked out chassis's for longer durations at some point in time, but guys only rag on cat. Personally I prefer the feel of the cat chassis over the other brands and don't see the point in changing what works just for the sake of change because it's been so many years.

if yama had a twin rail then the sled would be that much heavier on the scale and youguys would dog on it for that.
Theyre trying to be competative, and they are now. Id buy one even at a few hundred more than the cat because its a yamaha, there will be little differences, and i have two yama dealers in my county, no cat dealer. you think yamaha is gonna be cool with exploding clutches? I doubt it. Tuning differences...

you havnt seen that the yamaha has a 3 month warranty on cluthes LOL

To little to late now, but Yamaha coulda sold the dual rails and cat stick with the mono and covered both bases. Cat would make money either way and would possibly keep the cat guys around that are jumping ship because they don't like the monorail.

what you affraid of hahaha! youre right i missed that. id need to see primary spring removed and see if cover still hits before sheeves touch. If it passed id buy. If it didnt, I wouldnt buy and still wont buy any '18+ cat or yamaha at asking price.

My 2020 Alpha with the drive clutch spring removed the clutch will close until the sheaves touch. Doesn't stop on the cover bushing. FWIW
