Spent the day riding in Keg Springs and was NOT disapointed at all.
There is a lot of VERY GOOD SNOW back in the woods.
Even with a lot of traffic after the big dump, the snow was in Excellent condition with miles and miles of it untracked.

Heading back tomorrow!!

I have a group of 8 coming out to Island Park on March 3 or 4, can’t remember, Would anyone want to be a guide or just show us some places off the beaten path? Not looking for anybody’s secret spots, but we have been out there two years now and have found good riding but it’s been mostly tree riding. Haven’t been able to find the more open meadows and hills to climb. If anybody wants to mark up a map or go riding for a day or two PM me and we can work something out.
Thank you in advance

Have you not yet ventured over to the Mt. Jefferson side of Island park?
Is this more what you were looking for?

Boy - you can ride about anywhere there eh?
Hardly any trees and pretty rolling terrain - like Tog (but bigger) ???

.

Ha Ha, bigger than Tog... I'll take an educated guess and say there's 600 square miles of riding, easy, give or take a couple hundred

How does a person access Mt. Jefferson from IP. Do you come in from the road/trail a person takes to get to Elk Lake resort?
Off Yale-Kilgore road. There are a few parking lots. Snow was awesome today, lots of new snow to cover all tracks.

Depends on which side of Jefferson you want to visit. With that being said, Jefferson, and Rheas are surely ticking time bombs with all the new snow the past couple of days

That really can NOT BE STATED STRONGLY ENOUGH right now!!

Not at all the time to be exploring Jefferson area. Twice in last three weeks we nearly missed losing guys from our area that rode out slides. Both times were in “playing it safe today” areas?.

On a different trip.....some other time.....

I would take the Kilgore parking advise. Too Long a ride from west Yellowstone to make gas and energy last to safely explore and enjoy the area. We always come out on fumes in the closest lots.

Love that area, but too much risk right now.
Will be nearby with my family over the next wknd enjoying the meadows and mild stuff.

I meant that the terrain is bigger than Tog, but looks similar in type?

Maybe we'll hit that in a few weeks?
