2017 Mototrax suspension setup

One note about an issue I'm having on the skid. When I try to back up the bike it will roll and then bind up severely. I noticed it when unloading it a few times but also out riding sometimes I've wanted to back up. Well, the back end of the hyfax is catching on the metal clip things on the track and stopping it. SO, I'm going to try to radius those somewhat so it will roll back as this is important to be able to do for me at least.

If you take a blade and put a chamfer on the back of them they stop doing that, not all kits do it but I have seen it. Just curious what situations do you roll the skid back other than in the shop? Also do you notice it once you get out on snow and riding?

Here's a pic of what I built. The shaft is longer to maintain factory travel , Has the ability shift sideways about 10° and has springs top and bottom to center the rail tilt fore and aft. Haven't tried it yet because I hurt my throttle hand. Hopefully better by next weekend.

We are testing and successfully running a spring on the lower side as shown to help with trenching.

A few weeks ago we tested two identical 129 kits, one stock and one with a 60lbs/in spring on the lower side, no upper springs.

Both kits in the same snow side by side in the same gear and the kit with the spring trenched literally half as much as the stock no spring kit.

Also the ability to start and stop in soft deep snow was greatly improved. And at speed they both acted the same once they got on top.

I will post when they come in and are available, should be any day but they are custom wound so hard to say.

Cool! that's what I was hoping for. Reliability with better deep pow traction. I told Zak & Randy about some other simple fixes as well. If you are the engineer PM me and I'll explain.

Why does everyone seem to be ok with having to perform modifications to get these kits to work properly? Please realize that this isn't the case with other manufacturers. Is there no expectation for something to work as advertised and marketed?

Well I need to back up all the time starting with getting out of the truck. And when getting un stuck. And when trying to find neutral. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but it seems like somthing that would come in handy for me at least!
In fact, I was able to rock bike forward and back and pop the clutch each time to get out of some holes that would've trenches otherwise. Like getting a pickup truck out of a mud hole?
