What do you guys think about the newer motor i know we dont know much about the 2015 but what about the 14

New Pistons for 015

I heard they changed to a different Piston again this year with grooves on one side, I would run it until compression changes . Mine fouled a plug when the compression dropped 12lbs on one side, that's when I changed mine.

Your good, run it! unless your looking for some more HP, then there is more options covered in many other posts. Enjoy the new sled!!!!

Yup just run it...its actually finally a pretty good piston. I figure at least till the warrenty is up

I wouldn't be paranoid. Brand new sled with a warranty. Ride it like you stole it! Two Pro's and no motor issues here.

Almost 2000 miles on my 14 SBA 800 and the pistons still looked great when I cleaned the exhaust valves, ring gaps looked good and no signs of anything that worried me.

I have the 2nd year engine warranty so I don't plan on changing mine until next season.

I feel bad for u guys that are worried about changing pistons out on a new sled if thats the case I wouldnt be buying the machine in the first place!!

I bought one. And the only thing i am worried about is the 2015 snow pack totals for the Cascades.... See you at the top. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow.....

Well, its got 40:1 in the tank and oil being injected to it, so i would guess it would be less once i seat these rings in and run 91 octane only.... Cant wait... But dont get me wrong, love that 2stroke smell in the morning. Half the reason i passed on the Yami....

Yes i did i dont have it yet i am going to pick it up December 8th in rexburg I did send the a deposit

All pros absolutely need new Pistons right off the bat. Just ask anyone in the Yamaha section. I'd recommend having your dealer install them before picking it up. If you decide to install them yourself have the dealer load your sled with a forklift, DO NOT START IT. The fragile factory Pistons could implode causing massive engine failure.

me personally, i dont think they have bad pistons, i think they have a bad pto bearing that cause bad vibrations when the bearing starts to go, and thats what breaks the skirts, anyone thats seen a piston with a sratch scuff mar or ding now is on the band wagon screamin, poo has bad psitons, its the pistons, it has to be the pistons, well, thats what my friends thats nebiors wth a guy who laundry gets done by a lady who is married to the salesmen at the deleirship said. put gas in it and ride the sh1t out of if, thats what i did and i have 3100 trouble free, non belt blowing miles, weird i know, i must have gotten the only good polaris there is. see you at the top where the 174's are dreaming of

Many aftermarket companies would like you to think so but the truth is 13+ 800s are good to go. How many MY13 and up have you heard about going down on here? Probably about the same amount as the fix kits or aftermarket motors that went down with far fewer of them on the snow.

I was just asking because you see a lot of talk on here about fix kit this and who fix kit i have been riding for 20 years and this will be the first Polaris that will be may primary sled.I have had alot of doos and a few cat m sleds.I do have two polaris 340 for the kids for the first time ever i am going to have more Polaris than anything else.I do still have two cat crossfire 700 for the wife and f-5 for my oldest daughter. With all that said i dont know much about the new Polaris.I spent a lot of time on the cat form and they love to talk about how bad the pro rmk motors are over there at least back when they came out.I am thinking about putting kurts gear down kit on it seems like alot of guy like that.
