2015 800 t3 impulse

How common is it that if it backfires it will take out the whole cage assembly ?? Those rage cages look like they'd take it better just from looking at the picture.

It's common on a bad cough, pop or backfire under boost to do damage to reeds, have had this happen in early days of the Aerocharger as well, but ussaally once machine is tuned and clutched properly it's a thing of the past

It can do more damage to reed housing when happening under a long pull, as I had to replace reeds and reed housings from being warped, we think from the hot air pushing back out

I'm not trying to start anything or sound cocky or anything but I have had my tss kit for two winters got about 300 mountain miles on it and have never needed to adjust any fueling or anything never have had a backfire or hiccup nothing. It just seems like people are always on here looking for other people's fuel adjustments or something all the time. I look at my af ratios all the time to make sure I'm in a good range too. Am I like the only one or....

800Power, with the impulse kit there if not a box to adjust fuel, it does it automatically. Impulse had to adjust the base map from the 2014 to 2015 due to the Skidoo map being a little different. But with the new map its always spot on from 5,000 feet to 10,000 feet, with no need to adjust. Reed will break on any XM turbo that is hitting the rev limiter regardless of turbo kit.

There is tons of Impulse turbo Skidoos out there, and they do not break reeds if you rpm are under control. Not hitting the rev limiter is the key. Maybe you don't make enough power to hit the rev limiter lol?

Had impulse out this last weekend, never touch anything on sled three days riding and rpm stayed flat line at 7800rpm..

Changes added to turbo set up look like a great edition and best track speeds compared to other turbo kits we were with..

Non adjusting fuelling system is the best hands.. Overall great job impulse

What track speeds were you seeing Fred? On my aero 174 3" I've seen peaks of 72mph and long pulls were around 67-68 mph

I had a max of 64mph on that pull, but I have 8 tooth drivers recently installed so it should be around 12 percent more i think

Last spring in golden when I had stock drivers on we were in golden and on a few pulls it would hit 73mph as well

As for the aero, I would of love to compared it as well on this ride but no luck..

Looking good! What gearing are you with 8 tooth drivers? I ride at 8-10k and thinking 20 tooth with the 8's
