2014 pro. What to watch for

Hey guys. Switched over to a 14 pro 163 from a xp. Wanna try them. Anyways don't know much about them so I'm curious bout problems to watch for on them.

Thanks

A Skidoo back up sled is recommended.

My '14 Pro has been problem free since I gone it 2 years ago. Give it a good chassis lube, turn up the oil pump, check track tension, check clutches and belt, replace fuel filter and plugs, gas and go.

Don't forget a tether switch, they don't come with one from the factory.'

Oh, almost forgot. If you ride any considerable amount on trails to get to the fun spots, I suggest a "$28" fix kit for the thermostat (it cost more than that), an IQ model snow flap, and over the top reversible ice scratchers that seem to kick up more snow than stock scratchers to keep engine running cool. The sled runs fairly hot on the trail but off trail it is just fine.

Trees. Lol
Maintain it and ride it. Mine has been perfect aside from trees and boulders.
I do second the reversible scratchers though. After breaking a set and putting the stockers back on till I could get another set, I was actually surprised how much of a difference they had made. At least 10 degrees.

For the reversible over the top ice scratchers is there a certain brand that seem to hold up the best? Also the best place to order them from? I will have to a bit of trail riding to get to many of the spots I ride to.

I did the $28 fix on mine, front bumper, lower bars, tether, windshield bag, rear bag and away I rode. Only adjustment I had to make was to the rear suspension. The sled felt really planted on the front end for my first 1/2 of the season and as soon as I started increasing the FTS pressure the handling was night and day better. So far no breakdowns or issues.

That depends where you are.

Tunnel reinforcements, up by the front arm, bulkhead, if you hammer the bumps, drop it in creeks, or fly it at all.
