2014 pro updates

the pistons are different part numbers,

the belt drives are supposed to be better...now with billet cogs(gears)

and im really hoping polaris fixed the drive shafts...but then again i have an assault...chaincase and steel drive shaft for me

Only the bottom sprocket has changed. Apparently made the same and from the same material as the top one. And the new stronger better running belt.

As said, pistons and rings are different part numbers.

Driveshafts are the same, with the collar.

Aside from the pistons/rings and QD updates, they've basically just used the same updates they used for the 2013's (apparently saying they had no failures reported on any after the updates) and better quality control. They NDT all of the glued pieces that they had problems with last year.

This should all be a good thing. When a company does the minor fixes to something that works this well (a small number had issues compared to the number sold), it's a lot better than doing major changes that are untested. Model years like this are the ones you want, where most of the teething issues have been sorted and dealt with.

That being said, nothing is perfect (less QD AND clutch belts were replaced on Polaris' last year than just AC clutch belts :)

I'm interested in why the 14' case has a different number?
And please ( this is the hard part for me!) try to keep this thread on track! It should be very informative through the year. Roff never said he was 100% sure so how about you do some research and contribute what you find.

I would like to know what they did to the case also, just know there is a new number.

Posting incorrect information (i.e. guesses, or wishful thinking) is worse than no information. I just spent nearly a week chasing down an issue with my truck because nearly every search of the internet has the Duramax cylinders ordered like the gas V-8's which come to find out is backwards. Some of these misrepresentations were actually post by licensed GM service technicians. So for nearly a week I was working on the wrong injector and not getting any resolution.

So I'm just a little pissed when someone is posting straight from their azz! and you know who you are, or maybe your too stupid to know that you don't know.

Rant over……..carry on

Please show me proof the 14's now come with new billet pulleys in the QD system...

Looks cast to me

Roff, you sure about the gears or you just talking out your *** again?

lol that made me laugh... I just hope whatever they did fixed there problem. The belt itself is suppose to be 40% stronger and more resistant to heat right? Most of there people that I have talked to think a lot of the heat comes from the gears

They're not billet...............

The 13's had a different tooth profile between top and bottom, the 14's bottoms have the same profiles as the tops.

Now that you pointed it out Waxer, I'm curious as to the difference in the case as well. Though as with any manufacturer, it could be as simple as an extra bolt hole or threads for a hose clamp :face-icon-small-con
