2014 Pro - Durability Enhancements

To post an update:

I picked up my new sled last Saturday, 14 800 PRO RMK 155 and am planning to rip into it over Thanksgiving. So far I have the following items in hand or ordered:

Skinz Float Plate
Skinz QD Skid Plate
Skinz Front Bumper
Zbroz Spring Kit - Front and Rear
OFT Steering Block Replacements - Excellent Quality
OFT / Pro Armor Tether
Fastrax Bulkhead Pro-tector - On Order
PowerMadd Riser
Oil Neck Sleeve
Spare Set of 2014 Upper and Lower Take Off A Arms (I tend to hit things)
Muffpot
Polaris Underhood Goggle Bag
I will be fabricating footwell vents and assorted other venting
Rear Bumer is still undecided
Will be wrapping tunnel for sure, considering wrapping side panels as well

Questions:

I am considering going with Carl's Clutching for the sled. Any thoughts on the performance gain of this kit or any other over stock?

Anything else that I am forgeting to beef up before riding begins?

if in fact the assault has tunnel support brackets that the pro doesn't couldn't you just order these from Polaris and install them on the pro to beef it up?

I actually had looked into that. Looking at the parts breakdown for the Assault there is nothing apparent. I believe that the extra bracing is just considered part of the Assault tunnel, not actually a separate brace.

Hard to beat carls clutching. Just make sure to get two sets of weights. One for mn and one for what elevation you ride at out west. Likewise. They do an icredible job with revalving shocks!

Clutching:
Fastrax, Rooster Built, & Carls are all good.

I had my clutch balanced at Cascade Clutch & Performance.

Check your belt to sheath clearance on the primary. It'll prob be much larger than stock specs... As well as alignment/float.

A balance and machining can be done to get it where it should be. And I recommend Indy Specialty. Not sure how busy he is now, but I had mine done and returned in like 5 days.

I fig with almost $200 belts, and likely better performance, the $125ish price is well worth it.

Xc6Rider is sure right. My 2011 primary had over .050 side clearance on the primary to belt clearance. Another guy I ride with has over .030 side clearance on his 13 pro and he just bought a 14 and it has over .040 clearance on the primary. Its brand new.. So send it to Indy Dan or Carl's and they can get it set up right.. Click the like below and scroll down to Belt to sheave clearance by Ron.
