Hi,

New to the forum but i've read alot with the search button :face-icon-small-hap

My 2014 is ordered and i was looking at the list of parts i could add to cover anything from performance to protection.

Here is the list i've made actually :

Bogie wheel kit (doing some trail riding to get to spots)
Polaris skidplate
Polaris Google underhood bag
Extra polaris strap
Extra sparks plugs
Killswitch
Polaris front Bumper or Skinz (dunno yet)
Custom wrap all around to protect plastic and overall look
Polaris Ves Gold oil
Dealer clutch kit for lower altitude (he is selling 75$)
Underseat bag

Uncertain :
HPS Can
PAR head 13:1
MDS clutch kit

I'm riding between 2400 to 3500 feet. I'm 6'4 and weight about 230 without gear. My last sled was a 2011 switchback assault and i felt in love with backcountry riding here in Quebec (Canada).

My questions are :

Do you have any suggestion beside what i listed? I dont want to invest alot more but i'm open for suggestions.

What do you think about the performance kit listed (heads, can, mds clutching)? Anything that i should be aware of? (fueling, racing gas, etc). I didnt want to do a piston kit, since the sled is new and still under warranty and they "seem" to have changed their piston so maybe its not an issue for 2014.

For the ones with similar performance kit, big difference with the stock sled? Worth it?

Sorry if many questions have been answered already on the forum but i did alot of research so thats why i have that list.

Thanks,

Ben

Don't waste your money on the Polaris front bumper. They are thinner than a Labatt's Blue can.

The can/head will void the warranty.

Your list looks good... the bumpers have been improved this year.

My dealer seems to be ok with the can, but he doesnt know about the head.

I know the head can void warranty, but i was mostly looking for cheater head which might be "ok".

Even if it voids warranty, what you guys think?

Not sure how the 14s are set up, but make sure you look into moving the VES drain lines away from your primary clutch.

Consider the belly pan block-off plate and some nose cone vents.

LOVE my Skins bumpers. BUT one was a semi-gloss finish and the other was matte. NOT optional to order differently as of last year. Probably could get it re-coated on your own though.

Bogie wheels? Mine didn't come with any...came with scratchers. I would ALWAYS chose scratchers.

Tunnel wraps are definitely cool.

5 piece vent kit from Mod Rods or the shark fin vent from PDP is great also.

because your from canada like me look into ggb exhaust, they ship out of ontario and you can get trail exhaust and mountain, trail is more ear friendly by the sounds of it,

ive been told mike taylor footwell vents are a must too or modrods or skinz.

if you are not crazy about the stock graphics a full wrap sure but im looking into a tunnel only factory matched graphics for my 14 pro for resistance to icing from arctic fx. Also powdercoating my boards, rails on my le are already painted but i would paint them too.

a gauge lifter from canadasled parts is a must

if your getting mds clutch weights no need for low altitude kit from dealer.

No can needed, save your money.

Have stock shocks revlaved by Holz or Carls Cycle.

Let me know if you are interested in a PAR 13:1 head. I have one with less than 100 miles use, no damage for sale. I'm going turbo so I don't need the head. I also have a HPS can that I might be throwing up for sale.

wreck 001.jpg say what you want but my bumper done it's job.

Polaris extreme bumper works well and will take a beating.
X 2 on the red line oil.
Under the hood bag is a must.
Go for the sled solutions under the seat bag, way more room..
Just move the stock kill switch, and go with a pro design or pro armor tether.

I always wonder about the skid plate on a pro, untell I see it in the fall when Im working on the sled. Man it gets thrashed. So ya a must..

motor mods, there all many but I wont get into those things. Lots of other threads about that.

The one mod I say is the best bang for your buck is shocks. Or at least get your W.E. revalved.

Balance your clutch.

mountain addiction gas can and mounting.

just my likes, that I have tested and put threw the grinder..

At that altitude with the 13.1:1 head, you will more than likely have to run race gas to avoid detonation. Go with the 12.5:1 head. Brad at PAR will hook you up. Also, you might want to take a look at Legend Oil. Good stuff.

Also, you might want to take a look at Legend Oil. Good stuff.

Heard this is good stuff! And I would sure like to try this oil, but there is no distributor in the southwestern Idaho area. If anyone knows of one or is doing a "group buy", i would sure give it a try.

I'd take the HPS can if you end up selling.
