2014 4 Year Warranty: No Mileage Limitation

Copied from an email I got today directly from the horse's (Polaris) mouth:

Four-year extended Service contract is available on new 2014 snowmobiles. Offer is valid only in the U.S. and Canada and does not apply to prior purchases. Four-year extended service contract consists of 12 months’ factory warranty, plus 36 months’ POLARISTAR® Protection Plus ESC. Subject to $50 deductible, no mileage limitation. See your dealer for complete details.

I would be very hesitant to believe the no mileage limitation. This is the first year that Polaris has threatened to not cover my sleds due to high mileage, but yet they still have. I believe they are getting tighter.

The 2012 Snowcheck 4 year doesn't have a mileage limit either, but it does have the "cannot exceed the book value limitation at time of breakdown clause". Those who have been saying two motors and your done are pretty accurate.

Is there any other companies out there that write bumper to bumper warranty's for Polaris sleds? dealer will only sell a snow check at msrp and not budge on the price. there are some hold over 13's for $2000 less than msrp but only a one year warranty.

If your burning down 2 motors you need to take some responsibility.

But in all seriousness the polaristar warrenty is pretty much totally dependant on how good your dealer is, and the 8500 deal is basicly a bunch of crap.

If your dealer will only snowcheck at msrp it's a pretty big clue that you need to find another dealer. Competition is fierce out there, find one that will provide the best service. There is a dealer in my town and I travel an hour and a half to a different dealer. my .02

I called my dealer yesterday to discuss this whole warranty deal with them. I read the warranty terms and conditions on Polaris' website. There is a one year warranty from Polaris and then Polaristar covers the next three years. There are a ton of exclusions and provisos in the contract so I called my dealer and talked to them. I asked them if they had any problem with Polaristar and they basically said no as long as they followed the rules they had no issues.

It really comes down to the dealer and how willing they are to work with you and your warranty provider. My blown engine was covered under the extended warranty even though I was the second owner and we technically didn't get the warranty transferred properly. My dealer made it right and got me covered.

FYI, when buying a used sled, the warranty can only be transferred once, there is a $25 fee and you have to do it within 30 days of buying the sled so pay attention. Lucky for me my dealer fixed my lack of transferring it properly and I still have coverage. I completely overlooked it until I needed it.
