2013 UPDATED BEARINGS/HOUSINGS

With the addition to the new style bearing you will be able to drill holes into the 2011 and 12 bearing housing to add the grease zerks. So you will not need to buy new bearing housings. We will have a set of instructions with picture when you purchase the bearing set of 4 for with grease zerks for $54.00 USD

A page devoted to a complete update for early kits would be great! I'm not the only one who will update bearings, ski and probably track for this winter.

Corrosion from water trapped in the bearing races is what kills the main drive bearings in snowikes and snowmobiles and dirtbikes.
Greasing may help but it is unlikely that you can flush all the water out of the bearing without damaging the seals.
All the major bearing manufacturers make stainless steel corrosion resistant models that will last indefinatley when exposed to water.
I am working with some vendors to find cost effective stainless steel bearings and will advise my findings.
If anyone has tried stainless steel bearings and / or knows an inexpensive source please let us know.

I see you are in Calgary, have you tried Commercial Solutions in the SE, I've had good luck with those guys, not so much with a couple of the others.

I've tried Commrcial Solutions, Motion Canada, Transmission supply and several on line vendors. They are still working on it.
Some vendors, snowbikers and sledders tell me they change bearings at the start of every season to prevent a repeat nasty experience on the trails.
Nobody would accept this extreme maitenance hassle from their car or truck. Let's fix this on our snowbikes.
Any help at sourcing stainless steel bearings or a better idea would be greatly appreciated.

Regular greasing really helps -- most bearings are only lightly greased that is why they only last one season.

I open " ALL "sealed bearings fill them right up to the top and put the seal back on before I even install them.:face-icon-small-win

That way they last longer than 1 season. Keep em full of grease and no water gets in.

Think Boat trailers--once you have "Bearing buddies" installed that keep the extra grease under spring load so grease completely fills the bearing and housing no water can come in and the bearings last what seems for ever.
