2013 RMK bar swap out problem

Ok, so my son bent his bars (read: rolled his sled) and we are in the process of swapping out to some new ones. I think he ordered some RSI ones.

Taking items off the bars, and the brake side module has us stumped......

Took all the screws out except the lower outside screw. It does not come out. It turns, and turns very easily but will not back out (The head of the screw is still bedded like it is still tight, which it is not). Gently prying with a really big screw driver to get the "halves" of the module to separate, does nothing other than give me a 1/8" gap on the bottom. The top is ready to seperate, the bottom wont let go. Prying while unscrewing that last screw does nothing. It will not seem to separate. I am afraid if I pry any harder, I will break something.

Is there something I need to additionally take off? In looking at the module, it looks like the high/low beam switch beds on the opposite side of the module from the switch.

What am I missing here?

I hope it is something fairly easy, as I am at the point of doing that pry thing until something gives.

Any advice would be appreciated.........

Maybe I am not understanding but I believe that style has to be slid off??? It's been a while since I have dug into one.

They will separate. Not a slide off. That head can be hard to get a bite on, but you sound like you know what your doing. They usually turn with resistance in that plastic. Which led me to the head bite.

Ok:

I figured it out........

The facking tool that we were using!

The outside wall of the tool that holds the bit, was fooling us into believing that we were actually on the head of the screw. Push the tool in there and there was resistance. It seemed like we were on the screw head. We were actually on the walls of the hole before the screw.

Changed out the tool for a smaller outside diameter one and it came right off...

I could not sleep and this thing was bugging the heck out of me, so i went in for another look. It just made no sense.

Lol, it seems we are a bunch of amateurs with tools sometimes.....:face-icon-small-dis

Yeah, that's what I was referring to. It's a deep well, as I recall, and any socket-like insert can hang up without bite. FWIW, watch out for install, also, that plastic does not take alot of torque. Good luck.
