2013 Drive Shaft Poll version 2

2013 Drive Shaft Failed/Not Failed Poll

  • Total voters
    225
Well, last poll was showing failures in the 20% range, now it's more like 13%...

At this point the driveshaft is only a little less reliable than the motors:face-icon-small-win :sorry:

At least the numbers are going down.

they are saying i hit something because of some damage to the track!

Yet another Ahole dealer making a POINT of finding something so they can deny warranty. There is no reason Polaris should ever see pics of some kind of damage to the track unless your dealer is a retard looking to F you.

People need to let others know who these dealers are... They sure don't want our money if they treat a customer like that.

Btw, you should explain to your F***tard dealer that the kind of thing that tends to cause track damage is an item you hit that rips a paddle... which is a TOTALLY different kind of hit from what would break a driveshaft. What a crock of crap. I hit stuff with my tracks all the time... never had damage to my driveshaft, but I've torn up some track lugs over the years.

that track could have been damaged at the mid suspension point..or at the rear suspension point...HOW can that dealer ever say that track was damaged at the exact same time and at the location of your frt axle..??..

maybe the broken axle damaged the track..??

And the question most troubling is 'why" is that dealer looking for anyway out when its obviously an easy thing to convince for warrenty..

willikers you gotta tell him your not accepting his view on this and that he should reconsider otherwise there is going to be a s...storm

I just added my vote: Failed w/ collar.

300+ miles on sled (which I love riding) with a rktek collar from the day it first rolled off my trailer. Went in for dealer inspection this week (and free oil, thanks for being so supportive, Polaris). Informed by dealer that shaft was separating! New shaft is on the way, so is a Happy Face clamp!

So, it appears that my 300 trouble free miles was only because I clamped it in advance of riding.

Thanks to all the Snowest riders who keep this issue alive and up front.

550 miles on her, hit some poop in the UP Mich this weekend, almost kicked me off the sled...thought for sure something would be damaged, but all was good. Hfpp on one side, Polaris on other. Btw, I did install another limiter strap ( because there should be two!) Day one, to keep the front arm from twisting and the rails level....keeping the load of the track even on both sides...and the driveshaft...:face-icon-small-dis
