2013-14 New Bike and Homebuilt Kit

paying for my habit

Working as an aircraft mechanic helps support my snowbike addiction. Thankfully my boss doesn't mind me taking up a little real estate in the hangar. Hopefully the bike will be spending the majority of its life outside where it belongs. Just a few bugs to work out. As for e-start on the 2-stroke 500, a decompression head is almost as good, but my leg is in pretty good shape from kicking my Ktm 525 for the last 3 years, in comparison the 2-stroke is easy.

Nice!

I'm ex army aviation.

Kicking isnt the proiblem its kicking it when its at some goffy angle. Its super awesome to beable to start it and use the track to help dig you out

Like the look of your kit. Do you have any pics in profile? Wondering about the width of your setup. Should be great in the tight stuff and easier on the chaincase hitting rocks and stumps.

Done!

Well construction is done, now for working out the bugs and tuning. The thing has impressed me so far, I've only gotten to ride trails and the woods around my house, but it puts my KTM 525 and last years homemade kit to shame. The 2-stoke power is perfect for the snow, on in an instant when you need it, but still lots of torque (thank you 500cc's). I'm hoping to get to the mountains this weekend, but we are experiencing 40 degree weather her on the Alaskan Kenai Peninsula. Pray for snow, I'm tired of rain. The Ez-ryde on the trails seems to handle very well, 5ht gear wound out, smooth, and the rail flex at the front of the rails aids in initiating a hardpack turn. Excited to get more seat time. Now I'm just waiting on the APT Smartcarb.

Awesome build! Im looking for some 500cc frame my self! Love the idea of people building their own stuff. What was your total cost for the build?

I noticed your main drive wheel is low. Im interested to see if this effect your deep snow performance. I'm a little worried it will trench a little easy.
