2012 RMK 800 dies when put in reverse

Old summit I had did that shortly before the motor went, I would definitely check compression and scope your rings. If it's hard starting I would definitely do some hard lookin

Had an 06 600 rmk that did this just before the motor seized up. Crank bearing went out.

TPS is clean and dry. In the process of scoping the motor. Sled started tonight when I tried it. Ran for 30 seconds and shut off again.

Motor mount near primary is shot as well. Lifting on clutch there is over 1/8"
of play. Took a video but not sure how to upload it.

compression

107 may be a little low, most likely the gauge, the key is that they are reading the same so likely your pistons are good!!

Mine read 155 psi at 3400 ft with a 13.6-1 head and the pistons had .009 clearance i wouldnt call that good. For the price of the gaskets I would have a look.

Just back from dealer with new fuel filter and plugs. After lunch will dig into changing this. Also will check throttle play. Snowblower broke this morning so changing parts on that too

Got the sled working. Fuel filter and new plugs did the trick. Runs excellent. Still bringing it to the dealer to have the motor mounts replaced under warranty!

Nice, that wasn't so bad

How did you check for the bad motor mounts? I'm almost scared to know because I've got 1300 on my clock and they may be bad also

I live at 3800 ft and the only "stock" 800 poo engine that I have owned that had compression over 112 was the 08 Dragon and it was a whopping 115. Both 09 Dragons, and 11 Assault did not break 112. I have a 2013 that I will have to check and see if they are any higher...

Stock with 400 miles my had 125
with 13.6-1 PA head it had 155 with 850 miles and .009 piston to cylinder clearance.
MTNTK top end and 13.6-1 head it now has 170

The same gauge was used for all readings not saying the gauge cant be reading high, but it reads the same as the Snap on one from work. Aslo long as you use the same gauge all the time it gives you a base line to work with as the miles add up.
