2012 pro

yup, on my wifes pro 600, worked very well, cut 3/4 inch off of each side. Be aware you then have to drill the hole deeper in order to get the hook back in flush.
I removed the stock grips with air, then heated the grip heaters and CAREFULLY peeled them off. They stuck right back on no problem. took about a hour total. Can't cut much more off due to throttle moveing over twards center.

Another option that alot of guys are doing is the 5" rise RSI bars. the stock bars are so wide when doing a tight turn requiring locked bars they come in contact with your torso. I put the RSI's on mine, they are 2" lower and you can cut them down to 25" wide and lose that ape hanger feel at the same time.

Your elbows in an aggressive stance should let your forearm go strait to the bars, try an do a pushup with your arms too wide or too skinny and you will see why the right width bars help with fatigue. Elbows up, brake levers down throttle up!!
