2012 pro shocks

They are good stock, but much better after Carls Cycle has revalved them. Makes a long days worth of riding much more comfortable after Carls has worked their magic

Carls basically turns the stock shocks into a FOX float shock when they work their "magic" on them.

WELL worth the $400 it costs to have it done . . . in my opinion.

IMO... Ride them... and see if they are doing what you want...

Holz does their mod with Walker parts... Carls does theirs with Fox parts... same end-point... different method.

Polaris put a lot of effort into making a great shock set for the majority of riders out there and by no means are the a poor setup from the factory. Some people out there need more from the shock or want to be able to "pound" on them... in those cases, you may need to go with a revalve or spring change.. or, if the math works.... a custom valved set of aftermarket shock.

My $.02

Had Holz do mine. They did a revalve and installed remote resevoirs with compression adjustment. Also, one of the rear shocks was replaced with a shock with the remote resi and revalved instead of modified as that was the only option there. They are now basically the Assault style shocks. Really like the adjustability as me at 225 and my son at 170 rides the same sled. Cost was $1000 for the whole thing with tax and shipping and took 2 weeks(Walker held them up for one week too). Good guys to deal with.

I think it's a great idea to run em first and see what you think before dropping cash and not knowing what kind of difference you just paid for. That being said everyone who has done the shock upgrade has had very good luck, but remember not every does the upgrade or needs the upgrade.

2011 Pro rmk shocks

fwiw here is my take based off the 11' shocks. Run them first and see if you like them. I found to keep them plush and roll up for sidehilling nicely they had to be set too soft to take bigger hits. If you strickly boondock and are a lighter guy (185lbs or less) I would think they would be fine. Not saying that they are bad by any means but there are better options out there. I will give the walkers some good credit though, they held up and were very consistant for the whole season. Most shocks do not last a season without being sagged out and pooched for me. This tells me that the components are sturdy thus a re-valve would probably be sufficient. The front track shock was much to soft for our ungroomed trails. Even cranked up it bottomed semi-hard a few too many times for my liking. The rear track shock had enough adjustment to work for me but I am 175lbs before gear so I am on the lighter side. JMHO
