2012 MTX Skis

I was in Yammy dealer today and they had a 2012 Nytro on the showroom floor with the new OEM skis. They look sweet! They are about 9.5" wide up front on the curve, but narrow to 7.5" wide for the rest of the ski. The "deck" is much lower profile and they are supposed to turn much, much easier with greater flotation. I was thinking of getting some for my 06 Apex. For reference Apex skis are 7" wide. Any thoughts?

The guys that have been running them the last few seasons have not liked them. From what I have heard and read the new skis are better on the trail and the old skis are better in technical riding. That makes sense to me because the new ski keel is not as deep as the old ones. I have a 2012 MTX on order, I will give the new skis a chance but my guess is that the will end up on my mom's mountain vector and I will put her skis on my nytro.

Thats what i've heard also PaddleTracker. If you do some searches on the Forum here you should find some info on them,,,there called MT9's....Thru yammie there about 140 each....wear bars extra.....I dont know anybody thats had them so I really cant say.......

The MT9's have been out for a few years? I thought they were brand new this fall. You're not talking about the factory Nytro skis from 2011 and prior, right?
