I have not heard of this on many new sleds. My first thought is what does the plug look like? I assume fouled means black, sticky and oily so it will not fire. Post a picture if you can, lots of great wrenches on this site and that will help narrow the problem down.

I think of two problems with a fouled plug to much oil/ fuel or not enough spark.
Did you add oil to the tank?
If so did you mix it with gas or add it straight?
Did the dealer mix gas in the tank and you added more?
What fuel are you running?
As for the spark, I keep two spare plug caps in the shop.
I also watch for rubbing and grounding on other wires, the block or head.
Another issue is heat on either side can make the caps expand and loosten. With engine vibration they may come off or wallow out and create a spark problem.

I want to know what kinda of Oil Are you running...??????

I had a Buddie.. went to a different oil.. Fouling plugs left and right.. Went Back to Polaris Ves Gold..

No issues!! No Fouling Spark plugs!

A day of getting stuck repeatedly with starting and stopping the sled pretty steady (2.0 km in 3 hrs) and it suddenly would not run properly, almost like it was running on one cylinder. Ice in the intake was one of the initial thoughts. Next morning after sitting in a heated garage overnight it still ran the same until I changed the plug. One side the plug was pretty black, the other side not too bad. New plugs and it ran fine. Talked to the dealer and his suggested the repeated starting and stopping had fouled the plug, his suggestion was to unscrew the plug cap, cut off about 1/2 of plug wire and screw cap back on.

New Pro 800 100 miles with no problems. Break in oil in first tank with easy riding. VES Gold, premium noneth fuel :face-icon-small-coo

ok..most likely its due to to much oil(someone added to much to the fuel),,but if your thru the oiled fuel on break in and it fouls plugs out of the blue, then take it to the dealer and ask them to verify the tps setting..a tps set wrong can cause fouled plugs...where I noticed this is start sled , load on trailer, drive to riding area and start, plug fouled on start up and wont pick up that cylinder until you change plugs..then runs perfect again..

I have a 2011 Pro RMK with 1060 miles and have never once fouled a plug. I warm it up to AT LEAST 100 degrees before moving it. So the big question is: Do you let it warm up good before riding it?

I am running Polaris gold oil. The gas is not
Mixed and it's premium straight from the pump.
I have checked for wear on any of
The electrical components and there is 0 on the 3 assaults in my garage.
I also don't move my sled till it hits atleast 100degrees.
Has anyone had issues with a weak coil? That's what I am thinkin it might be.
I havnt checked the tps yet but I will tonight or tommorow.

I've got the exact same problem

Switchback assault 2012, premium 91 gaz, not mix in the tank, ves gold in oil tank, wait to see around 90f before take off

I got 6 plugs burned so far

all of them on pto side

I checked

-cap plug, change for ngk
-coil....checked ohms and spark to 1 1/2 long on spark tester
-dielectrical grease everywhere,
-check connections
-compression 125 on both sides

When i change them i'm good for 4 to 5 start up and bang again

What you guys think........Why all of them would have faulty injector only on PTO side?????

Thanks

Marc

check the tps settings..if its good it is most likely injectors....

never has on mine..mine has fouled the plugs 3 times..always the pto side(once it was both but still pto side...)Tps is worth checking..mine was out..quite a bit...

are you running the nonethanol plug? maybe try running the ethanol plug and see if the problem goes away... seems odd that all 3 sleds would have the problem.

thanks for your help...

I will do a tester for my tps to check it butg it will take a while to have the stuff here

I'm up north Quebec and no dealer here

The closest one is 12 hrs train from where i live and it cost arms and legs to send down the sled

plug killer

I have an "11 assault 144 in the shop right now that is a plug killer also. Fella is from a fair distance away and told me that his dealer can not help him so he brought it to me. Oh goody! Every time i start this sled when parked outside in cooler temps it will idle and run great for about 30 secs to a min and then drop a cylinder. Its random which side fouls. I have set the tps on the high side, then the low side, in the middle, checked all other perameters, reeds, throttle bodies, had blue injectors and changed to yellow and reflashed ecu. Currently working with Polaris to try and figure this out. There is a good number of these sleds in the area and this is the only one i have seen with this gremlin. I am going to watch this thread to see what others are up to and if i find anything out of the ordinary i will post it also. Good luck Gents.

had one sled in our shop last year that was doing it as well. a 2011 rush 800. Ended up changing injectors and never had an issue after that.

I set my tps and it seems to be ok now. Fired
Up my 11 assault and it has never once had an issue with plugs and now it seems to be about 4 or 5 plugs to a tank!
