2011 sno check warrenty

Do they not give you any paper work that say's what all you got ,when you bought your sled?I would think the your bill of sale or receipt would have that on there if you bought it.
 
The last two Polaris sleds I've bought had botched warranties. But I did check into it and the warranty was still valid for the correct time. There seems to be some issue between the Polaris warranty and the company that takes on the extended warranty. However, if your dealer screwed it up, I think it is on him to pay for the additional warranty or to refund you the money that you paid when you bought the sled.

There seems to be some real BS going on with Polaris warranties. I had two 2012 Pros that I was looking to buy from friends of mine. The first one was supposed to be a Snowcheck 4 yr. warranty. Find out it's only a 2 yr. powertrain warranty. The owner, dealer and Polaris go round and round for over a month and he finally gets it settled(and in writing.) Originally, he never received any warranty info after he paid and picked up his sled.

The second sled was bought off the floor and supposed to have a 2 yr. powertrain warranty. Owner finds out he only has a 1 yr. and the dealer could get him a second year for $280. The common denominator in both of these cases -- it was the same dealer. ???

After screwing around with both of these deals for well over a month, I said the hell with it and Snowchecked a '13 800 RMK with the 4 yr. B to B warranty. The dealer I used wrote it on the purchase order. He indicated to me that at the time I pay for the sled, we would select the warranty. On the 4 yr. warranty, Polaris is supposed to mail the owner the warranty paperwork and a couple of wallet-sized warranty cards. Another friend of mine who snowchecked a '12 Pro did receive his paperwork after he paid for his sled. I don't know if Polaris sends anything out on the 2 yr. powertrain warranty.

Best advice -- get something is writing from the dealer at time of sale and make sure you receive the proper paperwork from Polaris. No one needs these headaches after spending $12 large on a toy.
 
It's just a few clicks at delivery time to select the warranty and other programs and then the pop up asks if what you (the dealer)selected is correct not rocket science to get it right

Yup, it should be nice and easy, but for some folks it doesn't work that way for whatever reason -- communication, computer glitch, etc. etc. Looks like you know what you're doing.
 
Or lazy, incompetent dealers.

Second year warranty is powertrain only and a $50 deductible, third party, too.

My first new sled sence 2002 and didn't get what I saw advertised. First polaris sence 2000. New dealer to me also. My bad, for not looking things over much better. Trust your dealer but shuffle the deck and cut your own cards.

Sorry to say, at spring break purchase when you ordered an 11/12/13, the upcharge for the 4 yr from the 1 yr was only about $400 bones, not $1600. But if he's telling you that for a 13, he's a criminal. $1600 is the price anyone can buy a extended warranty for now if you're still covered by the OEM warranty anytime in year 1, even 12's. Or the dealer is an idiot, hope he's not your brother-in-law. They know all this and should be explaining it to everyone explicitly with every spring break order placed. When we were paying $5k for an RMK this was expected. Now, these idiots should be selling dishwashers.

Zrider's post is spot on. I got an offer from Polaris a month or so ago telling me what an extended warranty would cost($1600) and that my one year was up. I was very clear on wanting the 4 year and paid for it. My dealer fixed the problem very quick. When Polaris get's the order they either had to sign you up for the warranty or give you the $400 credit. Lucky for me neither was done and they gave me the warranty and sent me the 2 wallet sized plastic cards showing I have a 4 year. Or that is how it was explained to me. If you don't have those cards I would get them. In 2015 when the new owner blows the engine on this sled I don't want Polaris to have any out on fixing it.

Lol, this is hilarious. But your right, Polaris would look for any out possible to not fix these engines.

I've got a 4 year warranty myself on my RMK, but final 3 years is a third party. It's pretty bad when Polaris steadfastly avoids providing direct warranties for its products. Oh well, it's up to my dealer to collect and get paid when this sled blows up and they have to fix it. They sold it to me and made promises what a great warranty it is, so if it ever blows well see, lol!

A polaris dealer told me the other day that the engine is part of the powertrain, does this sound correct? All their warrantys have a $50 deductible if I am not mistaken.
As far purchasing a four year warranty, in reality it's only a three year extended warranty, being that it already comes with a one year warranty at no extra charge.:face-icon-small-coo

Yes, year one is Polaris, zero deductible, no additional cost. After yr 1 it's $50 per claim, motor only, by a third party. I know, you would first think the clutches are powertrain, maybe? I haven't made a warranty claim beyond yr 1 myself, yet. Good dealer makes big difference, too.
