2011 Pro vs. 2012 Pro

On the sled - go with the 2012. No Brainer. I have never seen a year old sled only lose $1800 in one year.

Off topic, but just curious - we know how much more a sled costs in Canada - but how much is your Health Insurance? I pay over $7k a year to have insurance that even when I use it I may as well not have it!

I believe it's roughly 60 bucks a month. (I know, sorry) lol

If you make less than 30k a year it varies from free to 50 bucks. (Depending how far under 30k you are)

I would take the 12 for only 13 more..just think that its a better deal in the long run..my 11 has been flawless..never been back to the dealer (well once to get the backordered e-start installed..which ironically they didnt get to ..and it still doesnt have on it,,dang it,I need to call my dealer..)

I added up the price of the extras on the 11 and it looks like at least $750 of stuff that you will most likely buy. Maybe as much as $1000. If money was an issue, and you say it is, I would get the 11. I have a 2012 and I don't like the flat rails for a stock sled. I just got a Silber turbo and it's going to work great for me but I think the bent rails make a better handling more playful sled with stock power. Also, how long do you plan on keeping the sled? If 2 years or less the 2011 will depreciate much less than the 12. First year depreciation is the worst. Also, I would ask the dealer which way to go. He wants you to buy one or the other more, he will have some reason for that. Whichever way he wants you to go ask for some help in buying that sled. Maybe a few hundred off or some stuff thrown in.

would be a tough call cause the price is so close. don't think in 3-4 years a 12 will be worth anymore than an 11 with the same miles. they are almost the same exact sled. cylinder difference is the mounting spot for the injectors and the injectors themselves. at least some have a different crank manufacturer not sure if it is all of them. rails have outer grips which eat covers;) and there are 3 more circle holes cut out at the backside of the boards. that and a slightly stiffer tunnel brace and a better protected/routed wiring harness are the only differences i'm aware of. none of these things make the 12 a significally more desirable sled. 800 miles to me is less than half a season of riding. but is always nice to get one brand new when your already spending that much coin.

Are you for sure going to buy one or the other? And how soon. What part of Canada are you from?

I'd go with the '11. I traded up from a '10 Dragon to the '11 and was asking pretty much the same question, what were the difference's between the two. And all I got from a couple different dealers was the spark plugs and the track or slider bar (not sure of terminology) the '11 had an angle on it and the '12 was flat, which makes for easier turning.
The Pro's are in such demand that their attitude is that they really don't need to haggle with you, you don't buy it, someone else will. If you trust the mechanics judgement that rode the sled previously then I'd not worry much about the mileage already on the sled.
Ride it and enjoy, you have the warranty if anything goes wrong, if your still a little uncomfortable try and get a deal on another year warranty.
