2011 MH upgrade?

Too Much

Last year I upgraded my chain and sprockets and bought a fit kit. The total was around $720. I think the chain and sprocket kit was around $345. :face-icon-small-con

According to the Timbersled website, each sprocket is $75.00 (3 total, 1 on the jackshaft and 2 in the chaincase) and the drive chain is $65.00 + $5.00 for the master link.

Total is $295.

Edit: Ooops! Forgot the chaincase chain... that's another $65.00. Looks like the final number is $360. I would imagine your chain would have to be pretty trashed in the chaincase to need replacing.

The chains on the 2011 models were not very good. My chaincase chain literally fell apart. I had pieces of bushings, rollers, etc. lying in the bottom of the chaincase. I've never seen a chain do what that one did. Not just mine either, but all of them in our group.

Wouldn't that move the chaincase out farther so the belt would fit? Or are you talking about a belt drive instead of the chaincase?

Yes belt instead of the chain case,O ring chain takes alot of power,, try a non O ring chain on your bike, huge difference!

It rolls easier bit requires more maintainence,on my dirt bikes I get two seasons on an O ring chain, on a non O ring mabe a season.

How will a non oring chain make a difference?

The non-O ring chain that comes with the KX450 is the biggest piece of garbage I've seen as far as chains go. I was super surprised how the rest of the bike was well put together but the chain was a $5 cheap piece of junk (and the stock tires suck too).

Otherwise the bike is rock solid.
