2011 m8 standard vs, snopro

Looking at picking up a new sled, with the pro climb issues the way they are I figure I'd stick with what I know is reliable...and it's 4k cheaper. Ive found a new 2011 m8 and a new snopro for around 700 more. I did some research and all i could find was that the only difference was that the sp came with the telescoping handlebars, can tell u your altitude, and like upgraded float system for better trail riding? I'm a little confused on how the float upgrade works so If anyone could explain a little more on that it would be great, also is the difference of ride from the standard to the sp actually worth the extra 700? Or is there some other upgade im not seeing? The way I see it i could buy the standard and then a telescoping post and put it on? Seems like a cheaper route since thats whats really catching my eye.
Lastly are there any problems I should look out for most 2011s might of been having? I've read about having to replace the dd bearing? Or any necessary sled perks? Also read about a block that gets rid of the slop I've felt in the telescoping handlebars?
Thanks for any input

save the money and buy the standard version then send the coil-overs off to holz to have them revalved and sprung for your weight and have a sled that actually rides and handles how it was supposed to before the AC folks roealized they could charge more for the "sno pro" by putting cheaper ****tier sho....er....pogo sticks on it and gimmicking people into thinking it was somehow better.

the "sno pro"e package is a waste of money. fox floats are pure crap, and the MFD is the most useless MFD of any sled on the snow today.

if I wouldn't have gotten such a killer deal on my SP I would have bought the regular one for sure.

edit: and you'll also bend that telecoping handle bar the first big hit you take.

basically everything about my sled that made it a "sno pro" has been replaced because it was junk to begin with.

Thanks for the advice, probably gonna just get the standard and put a 3 inch riser on it.
Have you had any problems with the sled as far as bogging or just...bad problems in general?
Also how many miles is everyone getting to a tank? We ride anywhere from 40-60 miles a day depending on how much powder there is and wondering if carrying extra gas is needed
Thanks again

Buy the standard

I've got a 2010 LE which is a snopro just a different color. If I were you I'd get the standard and put the money you save towards a can or better yet a P-85 clutch. Other than the primary clutch issues these are great sleds.

Standard for sure. I have an SP and already bought different shocks and the post will be gone by next year due to slop, even with the BDX anti-slop thing.

Pretty much sold on the standard
Been reading more on the clutch issues, planned on replacing the dd bearing out of the dealership, should i just ride the sled untilnthe spider cracks and then worry, or hope I get lucky and not break one. Or just replace the Clutch right off the bat with like a p85 conversion

I would sale it new or see if dealer would give you credit. I'm sure there is plenty of people lookin for them. I'm in the same boat of thinking of a 11 standard. Then BDX intake and can, p85 and what else am I missing. Good deals out there.

P85's break too! Run the cat clutch till you need a new one, change the DD bearing at the first oil change and go have fun.

Get a Standard! If you like a Deluxe Speedometer or Telescopic steering post, just to negotiate with dealer for get it, it's plug and play. Float suspension is a CRAP, Coilover IS better!

I have a 09' STD 162 M8 and I have a Float on rear and i tried many modification on this Float... and finally, i put 2011 AC coilover! And it's work well better than any Float!

I have 400 miles on my 11; changed the dd oil and it came out silver. DD bearing was bad, replaced under warranty.

Known issue on these sleds. If you replace don't use the Cat bearing again.
