Hey guys I just bought this 2011 M6 for my boy 1900miles. I have only owned cat sleds my whole life but have never owned a 600 only 800’s and up in the M series. I have done a full service on the sled checked things over. We ride at mainly ride at 1600-2000ft elevation. I changed the primary’s to 70g weights and I know I have to changed the helix and spring in secondary still it is stock. But what RPM’s are peak for this 600?? I was going to take it out tomorrow and see what it is pulling. Thanks

The peak rated RPM is from 7800-8000. The power valves should be opening and 7300-7400 and the correct length, measurement for the power valve cables
are 1.417.
Hope this helps...

The 600s run darn near same as the old 700s did rpm wise. 7650-7950. Anything higher loses power. I've had the first 03.5 earlybuild f6 since new. Throw an x-1 secondary kit in & old Dalton or cutler adj weights. Ride the hell out of it

Awesome info guys thanks again. My boy is pretty pumped to have this sled and me too. He has always had fan cooled before and last one was a Z570 which he rode the hell out of lol.

I had it out today and it is pulling 7940rpm strong this sled is a beast lol. I just did all the bearings in the diamond drive not sure how it ran when I test drove it and how it didn’t mess any gears up but it did got so luck lol. That’s what I found when I opened it up and what was left of the 2 bearings

And also guys is it possible to convert the flat block steering post to a T style post? If I got a 2012 T style steering post would that be a direct swap out?? Just wondering nicer for risers and can pivot the bars then better for him

You sure it’s 05-06 m posts that have the T post? I was looking at they have the same as this 2011 a flat top post??

Hey guys wondering if this gauge would be a direct swap and fit from the old gauge on sons M6. The one on there is so small and seems so cheap.

So the upgraded gauge will not work the plug in gauge and wire harness plug on sled as different. ?. Really wanted to have a nicer looking gauge in the sled for the boy bigger easier to see

As for the gauges I did some research and testing I took the deluxe gauge off my 2013 proclimb 800 and it plugs in to my boys 2011 M6 and fits perfect in the round hole so I will look for one of those I guess.

Some guys changed out those gauges after loosing the rubber push buttons because you couldn't get them. Cat sells a kit now to fix them part #0637-320 for $16 if you find one that's missing the buttons for cheap.

You know if cat sells a shell for the gauge? Was wondering if I could fix this one by buying just a shell?

I think the kit I posted comes with a new front face plate or the front half of the "shell." I don't now of a way to get the rear part of the housing by itself if you need that too.

So have you run the deluxe gauge on the 600? Did everything work properly?
I also have a 2010 M6 that I would love to do a gauge upgrade on. Hopefully reflash the deluxe gauge to display coolant temp. Does anyone have experience with the success of this combination? Thanks in advance.

I did plug my deluxe gauge from my 2013 M800 to my sons 2011 M6 and started it ran it and everything works except the altmeter and fuel gauge bars. It shows nothing in there for both of those. But the gauge works everything else 100%
