2011 Husaberg FE570 w/MH kit (what mods)

Who out there has a 2011 Husaberg 570 set up with the MH.
I just bought the bike and skid. I have heard about fuel dumping issues, so I am curious what your burning in fuel for a hard day of riding and such. Are you running a mapping switch, if so what position are you running, or what what have you re-mapped to. Also what mods have you done and what do you think.

I have an 09 with stock mapping and on a hard day of riding at cooke city I went through about a tank and a half so estimated 3.5 gallons but I have not measured it yet to see exactly. I suggest getting oversized ZipTy Pegs and a softer seat as it is rock hard seat when cold outside. Other than that it is mind blowing where you can ride these things.

Fuel Injection

I take it you are pre-fuel injection??
As for the seat, I'm looking into a Gel insert as I thought that might be the factor.

Motor Temp

Do you have any idea what temp the water is in your motor. Is your cooling system stock? There have been some problems with the 2011's, in that once you get off the trail in the deep snow, the bike runs cold, so she then triggers the "choke" mode and you start dumping fuel into the cylinder.
Have you had any problems like this?

Trust me in deep powder you will be at full throttle and it should be plenty warm in my opinion but I do not have it measured. I would suspect that going down the trail it will be worse with all of that air moving across the radiators.

FYI, I've got a KTM500 XCW with a temp gauge installed. I can assure you the temps even while running full out in powder are really low. The last thing you want is more cooling. I actually have about 80% of my rad area blocked off. On a long uphill pull with no loose snow to cool you, you will want more cooling. Other than that, don't worry about over fuelling. Worry about riding.

I may try to add duct tape to the back side of my Left Radiator as it does not have a Cooling Fan on it to see if the fan will ever kick on. The only effect may be a little better gas mileage and leaner running for a little bit more power correct?

most of you are missing the point

your engine needs to be at full operating temps or you are killing it......
It sounds as tho most of you are not aware of how your engines are running.

without getting our temps up to atleast 170 degrees all the time we are doing nothing but bad things to the engines.

we have at this point on the kx450s and ktm450 run the t stats and radiators completely taped off on the front side and never even got close to being warm enough unless on a long hardpack trail ride.

if your engine is cold it will run cold start map (choke) all day causing piston wash and diluting your oil with gas. not good stuff

++1 what he said!!

What are you using to define how warm your engine is running? Where do you attach it to the bike?

trail tech make several devices with temperature sensors, or theres that tape thermometer that you put on the radiator,I hear that works good,Im using a voyager by trail tech. I think one of the things that helps the bergs is that the cooling system is marginal at best in the spring and fall,,, and almost always boils in the summer, had to install a fan kit to keep it under control and thats why I have to use the evans coolant!

I have put over 3000 mi. On my 09 570. No mods just a map switch and fan. Bike has run flawless in the snow and the dirt. Just an awsome bike.

doesn't the 570 bergs come with a factory tstat?

As for the hard seat, I took mine to an upholstery shop and had them replace some of the foam with less dense foam.

I put an FMF 4.1 slip on and map switch on mine. Very happy with it. I can hold 4th gear pretty much all the time except going straight up the fall line. Dropped alot of jaws from my sled buddies:jaw: I think they are starting to learn to not try and follow my track in certain terrain.
