2011 f250 gas 6.2

anybody own a 2011 f250 6.2 gas, what kind of mpg are we talking, i read they get 15% better than 2010 5.4, don't know if that was in the f150 or f250, then again i don't know if there would be a difference between the two, if it is as good as the 5.4 in the 2010 f150 sweet:face-icon-small-hap

I'm hoping it does better too. Laws of physics still apply though. I run a 2008 F150 5.4 with the 4 speed auto and hoping I don't have to get into the Ecoboost motor when I upgrade due to mileage of the 6.2.

from 2008 5.4 in the f150 with the four speed auto trans. to the 2009 5.4 f150 6 speed auto trans. freinds of mine are finding 25 to 30% better fuel economy, iam wondering if this new 6.2 with the 6 speed follows this trend:face-icon-small-con anyone have any info to compare?

I hope you are correct. My dad bought an '09 F150 5.4 w/ 6 speed auto and he can get the mileage if he runs right at the speed limit. If he drives like I do he gets right about the same, plus he is in a cab and a half which is a little lighter than my supercrew 6.5' box. Still I think he may be 1-2 mpg better than mine, but I calculate mine by hand since the computer is a tad liberal with the numbers.

what are you running? and what kind of mileage are we talking?

Curious myself at the performance of Ford's new 6.2L gas in 3/4 tons. I have driven lots of 1 ton GM's lately with the 6.0L 7 6 speed and find them a dog. No pickup from start until 30 mph and recently tired to get lane choice with a ~1990 Nissan Sentra in my way, we both stepped on it and he stayed with me. I had to abandon my attempt at lane choice because this POS 4 cyl was right there with me when the 6.0L should out accelerate a 4 cyl like this.

Mine: 2008 F150 Supercrew Lariat 5.4 - 4 speed auto 4x4 w/ 6.5' bed. It weighs in about 6200# rolling weight. I run a 265/70-17 10 ply Michelin so I'm not sure how that plays into rolling resistance and the like.

I typically get about 16.5 - 17.5 mpg for most average driving. I use it out in the woods so in 4x or pulling the hills I am down about 13.5-15 but this is all part of my above mentioned average. Problem is, on the freeway around here I would think I could get better mileage, but much past about 71-72 mph the mileage starts to drop as the tach climbs over 2000.

Towing my 3 place enclosed it shows 12,200# total weight and gets about 10-11mpg with my studded snow tires on which I know drags it down just by themselves.

My dad has a 2009 F150 Supercab Lariat 5.4 - 6 speed auto 4x4 w/ 6.5' bed. If he runs his at the same speeds I run he is in the 17.5-18 mpg. If he drops it down to the posted limit he is hitting 18.5-19ish pretty easy.

I anticipate either getting about the same mileage with a 6.2 but have more power or be pleasantly surprised with a little gain of both. I can't justify a 3/4 ton.

6.2L will be available in 2011 F-150's! Waiting for one to show up for a test drive. I don't think i would buy one in a 3/4 or 1 ton, unless it really suprises the crap out of me. But then again i am used to the power of diesels

I just turned over 2000mi on my 2011 F-250 with the 6.2L. Gas milage has been getting better as the miles get on it, but nothing spectacular. I do about a 50/50 split city and 2 lane highway driving (55-60 mph, mostly running light) and the last couple of tanks have been 14.6 MPG figured on paper, computer says about .2 higher every time I have checked. On a 200mile highway run I did have the computer up to 16.8 MPG. I figure it can get 17 on the highway consistantly once broke in. I took it to the lumber mill scale with a 1/2 tank of fuel and 200lbs of me in it and it weighed 7220. It is a XLT crew cab short box with FX4 off-road package.
