2011 Assault performance/longevity

Hey guys, my buddy has a 2011 switchback assault and is looking to put a little money in it to put a bigger smile on his face. It currently has about 3k miles on it and has about 2500 Cdn to spend on it.
Its gonna be my project so I want to put in some quality parts and make it run good.

My recommendation was to do a piston kit, head, pipe mod, pcv, clutching and vents. I was considering Terra Alps because they are here in Canada and Ive heard they make a quality product. They have their own piston kit and billet head and they do a pipe mod that's good for about 5 hp. So I would say with this, the pcv and the vents, he should have around 170 hp.

Has anyone had any experience with Terra Alps or is there anything else out there that someone would recommend. I know bikeman has a Canadian website and I was considering them also. Buying in Canada would be preferred cause the dollar is s**t right now and shipping will be easier.

I would not bother with a pipe; they're a waste of money IMO for the horse power it adds. Being that it is an Assault, I would add a KMOD 37" front end and raptors (or used even stock shocks off a 2013 or newer). Next I would add a MNTEK or RK TEK drop in kit and after that a set of air frames, BM Fab or WRP running boards. You'll have a pretty fun sled that is reliable and you'll be under or on budget.... Don't get caught up on the exchange on the dollar and risk not being happy in the end!!

On a side note, I added the KMOD 37" front end to mine last spring with stock shocks from a 2013 pro; it handles like a dream now and is so easy to side hill it is crazy!! Hands down the best money I have spent on the sled!!

I don't think hes gonna want to go hardcore into the suspension. Its a switchback assault 144". He wants to put the money into the engine and add some more performance to it. Just looking for the most bang for the buck in engine mods.

Thanks.
