2011 Annual Copper Creek Bowls Ride and BBQ Part 2

Just for disclosure purposes...I AM NOT A CERTIFIED AVALANCHE INSTRUCTOR.

But I have seen it done dozens of times.

I will do it if people will participate in it.
I can do about a 15 to 20 min presentation...and if I make everyone do a beacon search we can stretch it out for 30 to 40 mins. :)

Well we will see how it pans out.... Thanks so much for being willing to share Scott

That was a bad day for the orange Revs. Mine was the one tumbling a little later out of the other shoot. Broken bushing in spring cup and it wouldn't back shift. Powered out w/ no where to go. Turbo this year should take care of that problem.

lol yeah it was. i saw yours rolling down while i was brushing mine off ha ha. it was not a good day lol

Not closed but the state road map shows chains required for towing vehicles on Rogers pass..they really looked nasty toward Lewistown...showed extreme conditions..

Currently raining in Great Falls according to Weather.com, but then again it says it is doing nothing in Helena and it is snowing hard and we have
at least 4 inches on the ground and it is melting underneath, but maintaining 4+ inches.

It is suppose to decrease early this evening. High for Lincoln is 51 tomorrow, partly cloudy, and a 20% chance of precip. They should have
the roads cleared by morning.

Not sure what is up the snotel. It says it is snowing there and I cannot imagine a decrease when it is like 29 and snowing. Wind is
probably blowing and it is not well protected there.

Call MDT and insist that they get the roads open ASAP and keep them open. :face-icon-small-win Road closures were not part of the plan. 50 degrees, sunny,
and 2 ft of powder were part of the plan. Darn good plan. :face-icon-small-ton

We plan to be there...maybe the Lewistown boys will have to ride sleds up this way and load up with us to get the rest of the way there...:face-icon-small-win

Sleds all loaded and ready to go...the purple beast actually started 2nd pull...yea ! Hope ragin won't mind riding my new pro ride...hahaha.

Upper Copper never got above 30° today. Mostly in the low and mid 20s. They hit 142" yesterday...settled down to about 136". Must be windy up there.

Bill, can I buy 10 gals of race gas from you again?
Should I come down to your place this next week or can you bring some tomorrow?

We are leaving Florence about 8:30.

CrazyRed, BobSleddn (and a buddy), Mike and myself are coming.
What can we bring for the BBQ?

Snowing hard on the mountain here in Lincoln...Just like last time we got here a day early we had it all to our self and cut fresh tracks every where we went...about 10" of fresh on a firm base...

Defiantly not as much snow as we have at Lookout area...

As soon as we got to the bowls we saw a fresh slab avy...so we didn't climb much did allot of boon dockin...The visibility was poor from the hard blowing snow..

Looking forward to the sun forecast tomorrow and all the big iron that will be showing up for the 4m ride...

Geforce and his TM8 is rippin...and Dtrips TM7 is right behind him...Nitro's riding his 1200 Turbo but chasing issues that are messing with the way it runs...and my lil D8 is not liking the 8600 ft...7800rpm again...this is defiantly boost country
