2010 Switchback 600 tech question

When letting off the throttle after cruising the rpm drops to 4100 rpm and the clutch stays engaged and will continue to go forward until I hit the brakes or let it move forward for a short distance. As soon as the clutch disengages the rpm drops to 1800. Sled idles fine and always drops back down to 1800 when revving. Any suggestions?

I think this is normal. I notice a lot more clutch braking effect on both of my 2010 sleds than I did on previous sleds with the P-85 secondary.

If this issue developed after a belt change, you may need to adjust the driven pully sheaves apart to relax tension on the belt. Sounds like the belt is tight enough to allow the drive clutch to remain engaged. A new belt will be wider allowing it to remain higher in the driven pully sheaves and tighter on the drive clutch.

Thought about the throttle cable but everything checked out. The sled has had this problem since new. I was guessing something in the clutching but I cant figure out why the rpm would stay up until the clutch disengages.

thanks for the suggestions
