2010 polaris rush

Well it came out and is not quite as radical as i thought. WTF is up with the no stats polaris? How heavy is it? How big of a fuel tank? The brake rotor is on the outside of the chaicase but the chaicase looks like it may still be removable? We pretty much figured it had a 600 but no direct injection? The footwells are nice and open and the running boards are sweet(but short) The front view looks like a dang apex(booooooo!!!!) It doesn't look very light!

I thought i would be more impressed!

A 600 short track who cares!!!!!!Might as well park it beside my proxr800 ill never ride either.Dont see how they will turn that into a mountain machine.Did they ever offer that IQ to general public? What with these groundbreaking models that suck.I think Ill get the hand guards and mirrors option.Im so dissapointed.

You were able to but a 600rr(race replica) last year for 10,000 for a 600 and they will probably not long track this sled. It is about time the flatlanders get a trick sled!

It doesn't suck u just don't like it 'cause it's not a mountain sled!

I don't think I like the radiator exposed in the front like that.

I like the look of it though, I think it looks tough. defenitly copying the XP but with a wicked rear suspension.

here's a linky

Well they do have the stats for it you can even build your own now. The dry weight is 459lbs. Of course the only track is the 121. So no mountain version. If you look at it closely it is very distinct from a xp when you look at all views its not near as stubby. It has some sick lines.

Where did you see the weight?

They had one at the race tonight at the x games riding around the track before the LCQ it looks like fun to ride but is a bit ugly.

Expectations

IMHO it is 100 lbs too heavy. Unless the ride is so much better it will be a non event to snowmobiles. Yamaha had the little machines a few years ago and they are all but forgotten. 460 lbs dry and 120 HP; WTF? Nice exercise in engineering with an answer that does not have a problem solving conclusion - 350 lbs and 150 HP. Until then the market is static and the XP TNT has the juice.

Funny that it uses the lower performance Cleanfire 2 injection system. I didn't see a price anywhere. I'm guessing... $11,000? The bulkhead uses quite a few castings. After seeing how the frame was constructed, I lost all my enthusiasm for the sled. Polaris hasn't had a trouble free 1st year model in like.... what? Ever? I definitely won't be paying top dollar to be a test rider.

Aside from the rear skid which looks promising, the sled isn't much different than anything else. I'm surprised the rear shock is not a dual clicker. I don't see this sled as being more advanced than an XP. If anything, it copies ideas from the XP and they included a different style rear skid to draw attention to the sled. They couldn't claim super light weight so they went for the novelty of the rear suspension. I'd love to try one out but I'll stand by and see how it holds up for '10.

All these comments just prove that snowmobilers are impossible to please. I think the Rush is a step in the right direction. I also suspect it to have a few first yr problems, but eventually everyone will be using a variation of this. Remember a-arms didnt work as good when they first came out either.
Its about time someone started thinking outside the box. 459lbs is great for a trail sled since lightweight does take a backseat to strength.
However I am surprised it doesnt have some form of direct injection. Maybe that will be released in a different sled so Polaris doesnt have to put all their eggs in one basket.

Also it looks 10x better than any other trail sled with a tall windshield and huge saddlebags.

And how can sleds truely be different than one another. They all have skis, track, hood, seat, and engine up front. The Rush is the most different sled released since the SnoHawk.

But it is funny hearing people complain about a sled they never had intentions of buying anyways. Nothing but a bunch of complainers. If anything you should be happy for the trail riders. Finally they get something trick.
