2010 Polaris 800 dragon

Alright I hate to ask this question. I have found a new home for my 06 Polaris 900 RMK 155. I have put over 800 trouble free miles on the same $80 dayco belt I put in when I bought it. I am about ready to pull the trigger on a brand new 2010 800 dragon. after reading all the issues on here im thinking a 800 doo doo might be the route to go. I have been offered a 4 year bumper to bumper warrenty. Will the warrenty still be good if i put on a can or do the pcv and autotune? Has anyone put these items on and actually had the dealer deny warrenty. So what I thought was going to be a easy decision is now not so easy. I have a big heavy sled that makes a pile of pwr. Sure it might twist a crank some day but it is also half the money.

You're gonna get a slew of varied answers on this topic, I would guess. IF you decide to get the D8, get the warranty and don't do anything to allow Polaris to void the warranty if you want them to pay for the burndown. In my opinion, it WILL happen, most likely more than once if you own it for a couple years or more.

I've got a '10 Assault, bought it with 600 miles on it, sled had a clean history of running. I put a little over 200 miles on it and BAM, scored mag side piston....now it's in the shop. Keep in mind, if I were to pay for the parts myself, I'd get the cylinder fixed instead of replaced as these cylinders retail for almost $1000 (monoblock design).

I got a screaming deal on my sled, but I really hoped to make it through this year before having motor issues....now, I'm quite disgruntled like the majority of posts you'll read on these motors....

Might just trade it for a quad for the summer and wait until the industry provides a capable sled that doesn't destroy itself. I LOVE the chassis, and love the power, but there's no way I can afford to repair this more than once every 2 years. And I don't think we as consumers should HAVE to have this expense.....

Btw, sled is all stock intake/exhaust. I ran a PCV with DTR's map for the last 100 miles.....

You could get the machine and put a pcv and a can on it, and if somthing does blow on the machine just take them off before you go to the dealer, and it was never there!
