2010 m8 vs xp

Really? So you think track width, type, paddle size and suspension have nothing to do with deep snow performance?

it makes a big difference but the ported xp track is **** the pc on the m8 is supposed to be one of the best tracks made all around better im pretty sure hes looking at from a completely stock perspective you have to compare how they come factory not how ppl have modded them or set them up

I'm talking stock vs stock. Read around, I like my PC but there's quite a few people who think there are better options. From what I've seen, the Doos are slightly better when it comes to steep and deep, probably has a good bit to do with their 16" wide track.

When I lined up my '10 M8 162 SP vs my buddys '10 XP 154 (both bone stock) on a deep powder pull he beat me by a couple of sled lengths.

I showed a vid of a xp getting raped on hardpack and there countless guys saying they beat xps in deep and steep get over it and tuck your sack back.

easy there internet tough guy. all I was trying to say was that hardpack racing may not have the same results as deep pow climbing.

Just watch SnowTrax TV....That show will tell you the real anwers! Ski-doo can't do anything wrong on that show!

well, i ride a stock 09 m8 std 153 and i dont ride with many 800 xps but the ones that i do ride can't touch my m8. the ones that do have 800's all have 146's but on the snow that 7 inches doesn't work out to be much but all i know is that th m8 is a much better sled, espically as far as reliability goes ( 800 kms on the 09 summit 800, on its 3rd motor rebuild). but if my 09 can take the 800 summits im sure the 10 m8's should do it wouthout breaking a sweat :face-icon-small-hap

At least somebody here is willing to admit when they get beat. I have an 09 xp and will tell you that i have been beat by several cats. but it has also spanked cats too. the 10' xp's are animals....not much that can climb with them stock in my opinion. of course in a cat forum, the cat will always win.

Both great sleds...50/50 IMO

When it comes to the new 800 sleds they are all really close and snow conditions contribute a lot to how the sleds perform because they have different tracks. My buddy on an 09 dragon 800 163 beat my highmark at the beginning of the day last weekend but by the end of the day the sun was out and it softened the snow up a little bit, next thing I know we hit the same hill and I destroyed him by 2 sled lengths every time.

The same day I absolutely destroyed a 800XP 154 by like 4 sledlengths, but I think his sled wasn't set up very well.

If you really have to have the highest mark on the hill then you need to get boost, if not, pick the sled you like to ride and have fun.

Personally the reason I like my M8 is because I can lay that thing over like crazy, hold an endless sidehill and do downhill 180 degree powder turns like nobodies buisness.

I've ridden an XP, I hated how it doesn't lay over like my M but on the other hand I see why all the crazy young guys ride XPs to go hucking off stuff because that sled naturally wants to put both skis on the ground. Which is perfect for the "red bull rider" type of sledder.

If I wanted to pull big air and do crazy stuff I would grab an XP146.

But I like to carve and boondock and climb a little bit, so the M8 is the way for me.

im no crazy guy but

i ride st helens, adams and baker and from what i see they all do very well. suspension and rider weight make a big difference. and i ride a m1000. i've seen stock machines with zbros setups do amazing things. also love my stock m1000 174 but will get beat by my buddy that weighs 165 on a 154 zbros xp. our conditions change over here all the time and you will always get beat or beat someone else. if it didnt happen that way we would all ride stock yamahas. lol now im gonna get beat!

when I had my mountain max it would out climb them all then I got a summit and it was the best then I got a King Cat and it was the best (I Hated that KC) Then I did a TApex and It would out climb them all (Realy that thing scared the hell outa me) Now I have a stock 2010 M8 and it is the best sled on the hill :face-icon-small-win. Sure do like it the best part is when I do get a stick its a easy out the thing is so lite.
