Will a 2010 m8 162 outclimb a xp 154 or 163? I have a m8 and I never got a chance to ride with a xp to see how the new m8s stack up against them. I have killed the old m8s and dragons up a hill with my 2010 but never had a chance to test the xps.

The XPs that I rode with........

didn't come close to my '09. That was a asume sled though. I think once Cat went to the new track and the lighter weight, they were rockets. Now with a few more HP, they must be great.

on paper they say the cats take the xp in every kind of condition EXCEPT deep powder....however, (muahaha) two weeks ago i was in 3 feet of untouched pow.( I can smell the jealousy!!!) i was out climbing a guy by about 50 feet. i was definitly a little lighter then the guy, but not that much lighter.....

on a flat staright drag the xp will beat it all the way cuz its geared lower, however in the deep powder bye bye xp:face-icon-small-hap

saw a stock one beat a xp with pipe, head and clutching. the xp was great but not the winner

My brother just bought a 09' XP 163. I've never seen a stock sled climb better that that thing. I was very impressed with it, my king didn't stand a chance! They carry too much front end weight for the sugary snow we were in and he got stuck a lot when his front end dove under. Kinda like a M1000, other than that, the XP worked very well.

My 09 153 will out climb 08,09 146 XP's and about even with 154's so if the 10 M8 beats the 09 M8 then it will definitely beat the XP.

My 162 2010 M8 outclimbed my buddy's 2010 xp 800 163 when we tested them. Similar sleds, similar rider weights. His was canned, with mine still bone stock. It wasn't a huge difference, but mine edged his out in the steep. He even admitted it!

i have dragged 4 different xp's and everyone i pull 3 to 4 sled lengths within the first 50 feet then when they both R out its bearly noticeable if ones pulling the other..

this is up deep pow runs up alaskan mountains.

the new suzuki motor just spools up faster, period...

only thing i did to my sled is iceage rails and mbrp can.

we switched sleds and where i think the skidoo is losing most its momentum is its in more of a wheely all the way up the mountain but going slower, the 2010 m8 is setup to pull the skis 2-4" off the snow and hold it there. the xp will wheelie itself to a stop

(this is stock for stock)

im sure you can setup a xp to level out more and not be such a wheely monster (which isnt the best for climbing or speed on top of the snow)

also inless you have atleast a fresh foot every ride the M8 is definatly a better choice cause you can throw it around in circles on hard pack where as the xp wants about atleast a foot or two before it will spin circles without jumping strait and jerking you around.

but get that bottomless suger and the 16 wide performs!

lovem both, but dont kid yourself, the 2010 m8 is the top dog this year. next year is going to be VERY interesting!!!!
