Ive been hitting 90 mph and then it seems like it runs out of gear,or almost like a speed limiter, I am sure there is lots more to be had. How do you do it , is there more speed in the clutching/springs/weights or is it a bigger issue , like changing gearing. I know I know its a pow sled but it hasnt snowed hardly any in the last month and Im kinda a speed freak. This is my first year with snowmobiles so I have alot to learn, I also have a 02 mc 800 efi that is just as fast but not as quick. the snow here is starting to get hard packed and the acceleration with the sp is outrageous, I have to make sure its pointed straight before I nail it or it will twist up and get evil. anyway Im having a blast -m-

well, mountain sleds are not meant to go that fast for long, very hard on the track, I think the manual even says something about high speeds and paddle tracks

Dam Dave, every time you make a reply I have to read it. OK, maybe I don't read it I just try to figure out how to make your avitar bigger.

2010 m8 have 55/65 gearing so there is no more speed.
last year m8 have 57/63 gearing.
what trackspeed are you seeing when climbing?

thanks for the comments , theese are the things I need to know, like I said Im new to snomo,Im just a adrenalin junky, but I dont want to destroy my stuff out of sheer ignorance. if its a 90 mph sled thats fine , thrashing around at 50-75 is cool with me, now I know I dont have to keep trying to get 100 plus out of it.plus I have another 800 sled that is mint in new condition that I can go fast on if I want , it has a swaybar and handles better. it a 02 mt cat
