2010 M8 injectors in an 09 M8?

Can it be done as a straight swap? A little more fuel flow from the 2010's as opposed to the 09's.

Just curious, thanks.

I believe that they are different impedance and the ecu will have a difficult time firing the different injector. It will fire it but will not be any were near the correct duty cycle. Cat switch to that injector on the 10 m8 ho.

Thanks guys. I thought the 09's were a 670cc injector and the 2010's were a 700cc injector or something like that. I must have misunderstood, thanks.

The 2007-2009 injectors are a low impedance injector and are around 650cc. The 2010-2011 M8 has high impedance injectors and flows around 700cc. I am testing 1000cc injectors right now on 2010 M8 with the Powercommander so we don't have to run auxilliary injectors at higher boost levels. If all goes well, we will offer the higher flow injectors for both the 2007-2009 and the 2010-11 models. The 2007-2009 should be great with around a 850 to 900cc injector.

Thanks Racinstation.

Is the power commander a necessity for running the higher impedance injectors on the 09's or is an Attitude controller also suitable? Or would the 09 ECU need to be swapped for a 2010 ECU?

If the sled can't do 30sek WOT at 12,5:1 afr, I don't think it's worth using...
Think most of the guys in here only do 5-10 sec WOT at 6000ft.. And that's not comparable with the use we do @ sealevel!

So you ran M1000 injectors in a 2010 M8?

Jason
Hi.
I have been involved in the tuning of Jijohan`s 2008 M8T.
We ran the hole last season on M1000 inj at 6,5 psi and the sled was working very good, tested to 1min WOT.

This is what we could run at sealevel safe for long WOT runs +30sec. Above this boost pressure we got detonation and/or AF above 13. And this is with low compression head:
-Stock M8 inj. 5psi, the inj was the limeting part.
-M1000 Inj. 7psi, stock fuelpump is the limitation.
- 875cc inj. 8,5psi Fuelpump upgradet,Got into problems with tuning the midrange because we couldnt draw off enough fuel to tune it, could probably run higer boost if we could tune the midrange.Did some test with 10,5psi.

The stock 2008 injectors are way belowe the M1000 60lbs/ 660cc we run with last year and seams to be around 470cc.It is also diffrent part# on all the injectors from 08, 09, 10...Thats probably why we didnt got any good result with the stock inj.

We could have uset a rising rate fuelregulator to solve the tuning problem we got into, but are now upgrading to 4 inj race system.

Where did you get the 875cc injectors? What fuel pump are you runnig?

I think the name is Ballenger motorsport. Was the only place I did find Hi imp injectors in that big size. But I have got 1000cc hi imp inj now for my Skidoo 1200 Turbo from Powder Lites...
Using a Wahlbro 255lph pump.
