I broke my steering post on my 2010 D8. I was wondering if anyone has replaced theirs and how hard is the process of doing so. Do you have to pull the motor? Any info would be great. Thanks.

I did my 09. Loosen console so you can get to the bolts in the hoop. remove handle bars. Remove air box and loosen throttle boddies and lay out of the way. With along extension you can reach down and remove the nut on the heim joint on the steering rod. You will need to place an open end wrench on the joint between the steering rod and the lever on the bottom of the post to prevent it from turning when you take the nut loose. I let the wrench swing over against the tunnel to hold itself while I loosen it. The end of the post just drops into a socket down there behind the motor so it should just pull out. Drop a new one in and reverse you disassembly.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm waiting on parts then i'll give the swap a try. Doesn't sound like it should be too bad.
