Hey all last year a friend of mine bought a 10 dragon and put 90 miles on and it burned down so he called slp and ordered there stage 4 kit that included a pipe, head, porting and an ecu reflash he has put 300 trouble free miles on and it is burned down again scuffing on both pistons front and back same as the first time I'm looking for some input on where to go from this point and why this happened again thanks

So he never found out what happened the first time to cause it?

Voltage regulator issues, injector problems, junk OEM pistons, not enough oil... that is some things to look at which would not have been remedied by the SLP kit.

I went over it with a fine tooth comb and couldn't find anything wrong with it it uses plenty of oil and ran amazing after I did the stage 4 from slp

So was pulling the kids sleds around when he had the Stage 4 kit installed?
I had the same done to my Dragon and was getting serious detonation in the midrange, which is where he would have been cruising at. Which is also a big no fly zone on these engines.
I got rid of my DET by taking it to a Dyno and tuning it.

He is running the Power Commander correct?

He was pulling kids when it went down the first time bone stock this time with the stage 4 it scored the pistons and cylinder the tops look fine only wear is a little on intake side but mostry scored on the exhaust side he is not running a power commander it has had the ecu reflashed by slp when he ordered the stage 4 they said he would not need to run one with there reflash
