2010 D8 Analog Tach?

I put both the temp and the altimeter on my 08 700. Very easy to do. Plugged right into the harness by the pipe. Installation instructions say they fit all IQ models except the 600 HO carb engine. Instructions on how to use them are in the owners manual.

Air Temp Kit P/N 2875949

It works

Thanks for all your help. I got the altimeter it was very easy to install. Plug and play like everyone says. Its the wires down by the hood hinge like stated. 08 dragon 800.

Post some pics of the connectors, the kit etc so that others can benefit from your experience.

I'd also like to see someone with a 2009 and 2010 post pics of the same area on their harness so that others can see if they can do the upgrade...Although the replacement harness' have the same part numbers... I wonder if they were changed at all??

Followed this thread and put the Analog / MDF in my 08 Dragon

I bought an 08 Dragon this fall which needed a new MDF. After reading this thread, I ordered the combination Analog / MDF from Babbits (part # 12410375) plugged it in and it worked perfectly (mounts and plugs were the same for both MDFs). It was $15 less expensive as well! Thanks.

I know this is an old thread but...
I just picked up an 05 900 RMK MFD for my 08 800 Dragon, plugged it in last night and fired up the sled (cough cough in the shop - smells sooo good...), anyway, I was not getting any readout for coolant temp, none at all. The MFD seemed to work in pretty much every other way, although a bit different thank the 08 MFD. I had to shut the sled off to get some oxygen before I could play with it too much, plus the left handlebar control switch is acting up like the pivot is broke or something, so I was not sure what was going on.

I got a decent deal on the MFD (used), but if the temp display does not work, to me that is a deal breaker, I will have to go back to the original. And yes, temp worked on my 08 MFD, and yes, I plugged it in right... tempted to put it on my wifes 08 D7 to see if there is something else going on...

I am going to try to use the 9Volt battery method to power up the MFD without firing up the sled (in another thread) so I can play with it more. Plus I need to fix or replace that left handlebar switch... gotta get more shop time.:whip:

EDIT (update): Wiggled the wiring connector on the gauge, temp sensor started working, and worked great through one ride. The analog tach is not as good as the older sleds IMHO, but still better than nothing. I still prefer the older gauges for quick-glance reads while climbing etc., but this is better than the original 08 instruments. My next fixes are to relocate the capacitor and put a fan on the voltage regulator (don't want to lose the electronics), put on the PCV I bought on snowest, get a Fix Kit from either PMSPolaris or the Dragon Saver kit (seems identical but much cheaper), put on the lexan hood I have had sitting waiting to be installed for years... *L*
