2010 assault good buy?

Hey guys I 'm waiting to buy a pro or another xfire, but my brother is looking at a 2010 assault 900miles for 7500cdn is this a good deal? also will this motor last i know the polaris 800s are known for blowin up but were they figured out by 2010? Let me know what kind of experiences you guys have had with this sled?

Thanks

Jamie

I'd look for something else. As an ex-2010 owner, I'll not be looking for anything from Polaris in a long time....

running a 2009; effectively the same sled short of the paint, 7500 is steep, i got mine 2 years ago with 200 miles on it for 8000.
that being said, i have put a PCV on it for longevity, and i'll be doing a top end go through just to make sure.
i ride with a couple of guys that run boost, and they seem to be fine as well.

to high a price, and there'll be some recommended things to do to make sure it doesn't detonate on you.

i'd do it again after the updates, this thing rocks with the shorter track, and gearing... wheelie monster!!

sorry guys its 900km not miles just to clarify, the sled has jaws pipe and slydogs. I heard that the power commander V was a fix for the detonating, is it? we've been looking around and in Canada this is the cheapest i've found.

There has been no bulletproof formula for these sleds. You can spend a ton of cash on them to help minimize the likelihood of the burndown, but I don't think you do anything but stretch the time before failure. Hell, I saw a top end go at 60 miles (piston skirt broke).....

Anything but a poo

Stay away stay far far away. im 13,000 into a sled that has run 1000 mi. in pieces now and couldnt sell a used one around here if you tried. You couldnt even pay me to ride one. this thing will leave you stranded.
