2009 RMK 600 Air Box Removal?

bleed screw?

I think they have a bleed screw and wouldnt hurt to put a pint of oil in the next tank to make sure in case the oil doesnt go down. Good luck!

Correct. the shiny 8mm hex nut/bolt on the oil pump is the bleeder. Crack it open and wait for any bubbles to pass and then let a little extra leak out and tighten it back up. Use a couple of rags to catch the oil that comes out of the bleeder.

BTW, is this a 660 or stock 600? How many miles are on it? What happened to the oil line that caused it to leak?

Glad to hear there is a bleeder screw! I will be cracking that and removing all of the bubbles before starting the sled. The motor is just a 600 with 1400 miles and an mbrp can but i had noticed i was getting some oil beneath my engine during the season and thought nothing of it but after breaking my throttle cable i went and dropped the sled off in my shop and a few days later when i came back all of the oil below the inline check valve had leaked into the engine bay and onto the floor. I'm hoping that the feed line was leaking at the pump because it seams to be the highest point that had residue on it. What other sort of leakages could i be having from the pump? My thoughts were that if the sled was sitting and not running the pump would not let the oil from the feed line flow into any of the smaller oil lines so it had to be the feed. could the oil pump itself be leaking against the block? everything was covered in residue so it was very hard to diagnose what was actually leaking I'm pretty new to two stroke engines so would definitely like to hear some other opinions.

thanks for reading guys

Found out this is the bleeder screw, it has to be fully removed. It would not bleed unless i used my hand over the oil reservoir and lightly blew some pressure into it from my lungs. Leaned a lot about these motors from just replacing my throttle/oiler cable!
